I was wondering if any hambers worked at chrome plating shops in sacramento. I am trying to get an axle chromed and they are quoting me $300.00, so I am thinking of going another route. Its a Vw axle. If im going to spend that much I might as well try to build a 1/4 elipticle front end on it and have it cromed if its going to cost that much. It would look a hell of a lot better. Any body in sac know a good plater?

If you're talking about a complete VW axle that sounds cheap! I've spent about $500 on my I beam for the Roadster years ago at Sherm's and I had already done ALL the prep work. It is Beautiful, and they are expensive but the best in the country.

You are correct about sherms. They told me $4800 to do a 35 grill (that's what they charged brizzio) And I know people there. [IMG]

My old hookup charged me only $500 for my front and rear bumpers on the 60 olds. We had EVERYTHING on them chrome plated. I talked to them and they are working on getting new permits to the new location they opened. Look them up.. MetroPlating and talk to Mike.

300 bones sounds cheep. the Plating business is a total pain in the ***, especially in California.. The EPA has all those guys by the short hairs.

Home Depo sells "Chrome in a Can" -haha!

How about some pix of your VW. Maybe you should just PM them...

Thanks guys I will call around. And I would not dare post a vw on here after the hazing...I am just dying to build an T coupe all the bodies I've seen are at least 1600 miles away from here. Like at least kansas or further...

***is the rash bash back, parting was such sweet sorrow my friend. Hows it been.. What you been up too...I've heard you've been dealing with some **** and I feel your pain bro. No hard feelings here.

Also fellas since I'm building a volks rod, I was thinking of really going out on a limb and having a flathead hanging out the back. How much can you pick one up for? Just think that would look sick having that hang out the back, roof chopped, chromed suspension, possible eliptical if I can figure out the engineering on paper. I have a show sept 5th and I want to be as ready as possible for it.
