I did a couple of searches -- and did not find what I was looking for.... I'm looking for shots of vintage car clubs -- you know -- groups of guys with their cars, club jackets on, etc , etc Thanks in Advance
Pick up some Don Montgomery books, worth every penny!!.....there's a ton of old photos of guys with car club shirts, jackets, plaques, etc. (We're talkin anywhere from the 30s up to the 1950s) Not to mention if you take the time to read the stuff between the photos, you'll get a good solid education,...somthing much needed these days in the world of hot rodding! Here is an article Hot Rod Magazine did on the car club I belong to in 1963. The club was established in 1957 and is still going strong.
These are some old pictures from the MHRA, My club the Road Knights Est. 1951 The first picture was taken at Eckles Rd. at the first organized Drag Races in Michigan, put on by MHRA, the Road Knights did tech inspections,..... that's why the guy with the "Drag-on's" jacket looks so clean. (this was the Road Knights very first jacket logo) Here are the Road Knight's in 1954,.... the tall guy in the back, Harry, is still a active member. And of co****, the first official club banner in 1952 or 53 This guy was also in our club,..... (my ol' buddy) Frank Mack Finally, This is our club showcase at the 50th. Detroit Autorama, which the MHRA and c.a.s.i. still put on,..... 52 years of history in that showcase. that ugly critter in that picture is yours truly,....
