I know a few here have seen the progress allready on my 1941, but il post the progress here aswell..

    More pics here http://public.fotki.com/73OldsOmega/models/1941chevypickup/

Still need to add some more black, a valvestem..and clean up my mess on the wheels. :)

Revell pie crusts with revell mercury chrome reverse wheels. Pinner white wall decal from the 1941 chevy kit decal sheet. The cliche ;) ironcross is from the 41 decal sheet also.

I heart model cars is from a amt kit, the goodguys and orange county decals are from the revell 1948 convertible kit.

Detail master "detail" wire i found in my wire box, along with some epoxy to make a light bulb complete the missing tail light. The complete tail light is from a AMT 1932 phaeton vicky kit. I paint the blue dot with a toothpick. simple...and effective.

Anyone doing Computer 3D models Here?
    Trying to teach myself...
I Got a long way to go though.

It would be nice to see folks put up sets of photos of their cars
that 3d artists could use for modeling.

That looks cool Omega and,Jdee, That 3d stuff iss something I'll be tying to get into myself. What program are you working with?

I was hoping to post some today but ended up cleaning out the garage instead. Maybe next week. My wife got me the coolest father's day gift and I'm itching to use it. It is a mini photo studio. I'll show you a photo of it when I get pictures of the models. Hope it all works.
I've got lots of ideas on how to use it.

Would you be able to take that and use it on a rapid prototype mill?Imagine the possibilities!

Yes, you can print/mill out 3d models.
I'm sure not that far/good yet. its all very new to me.

It is why I'm learning this though, and I can use
my goofy hobby models in my how-to videos on other projects.
DDM Direct Digital Manufacturing should be some neat stuff....
OT but this is some stuff 3d folks are starting to do.

That 32 is unbelievable!! Most 3d car related stuff I see is very unrealistic, but that model is absolutely top notch!

I really believe that in 10 years, 3D printing is going to be an affordable means of testing out ideas, or even building specialized models. Just in the last 5 years, i've seen 3D printers come down from $25k to 5K, there's even a group that is devoted to making open source machines that can recreate themselves! You buy a 3d printer, make some copies, and give them to people as gifts.

For anyone just starting out in 3d, or just want to give it a try, i'm really enjoying Google's Sketchup program. It's free, and simplistic, so it's easy to figure out. Also has a ton of support on the internet, so it has a easy learning curve.

    Very nice detail work Omega!

I haven't worked on, let alone finished anything in months. Picked up some good kits at a kinda local hobby shop yesterday. One of them the "Top Fuel Hemi Sphere" dragster. Figured I could knock it out in a day or so.

Made a short body out of the long one, reshaped the cowl and windshield area, adjusted the halo bar (?), and put on a proper set of rear wheels and tires. Really wanted to give it kinda of a Zorba's Ghost feel.

It still needs to be wired, and I didn't install the return fuel line because they only include half of it in the kit. Could use a push bar too. But it might just get put on the shelf as is.

i found these modes up in the attick.
i made them about 15 years ago, some of them are slightly damaged.
they probaly are not the right brand, but some of them had a lot of bodywork.
the van was a panelvan before i added the windows.
