How about straight up single stage black cherry? Or a tri-coat black cherry with either gold or silver flake as the base?
    Too many options.
    Have fun.

Maybe a little "out there", but...

Under the beltline = Navy blue basecoat dusted lightly with gold-pearl.

Add '60s scallops in gold metallic with white(with gold pearl) outline.

    Clear Coat!!!

Roof= Egg-shell white with more gold pearl (quite a bit actually)...

    Clear Coat!!!

Wheels= leave 'em steelies with ribbed beauty rings.. and paint 'em gold metallic... NO CLEAR!

I saw a blue gray on a late model Subaru this evening on the way home that I thought would look great on one of those. It was just subtle enough to look great with wide whites and custom hub caps.
I've had my eye on a two door sedan that some is curbsiding on my way to work that I thought would look good that color.
You can always paint it Baby Doll blue with a pearl white interior with blue piping and blue rugs. That is about as traditional as one of those gets.

I restored a 54 ford glass top a few years back and did the bottom half white pearl with a medium metallic green roof. With the trim line, it really stood out. I didn't like the idea at first, but laid out it was good.

I think the green could grow on me especially with the chop.

Yeah, but I think I would like to see it really dark green. Kind of like the Sam Barris Merc. Forest Green.

  17. if this were my ride....

either a two stage glossy metallic silver, run some 55 olds caps and white interior

and option two that looks good in my head is a dark blue two stage paint, no pearls, no flake, something old looking, and the 55 olds caps and maybe a black tuck and roll, blue dash like outside with white faced gauges

the car looks better as an earlier 50's custom than the later style with all the scallops and busy shit. id stay simple, but thats in my eyes. chop does look sweet

Spray the car metallic silver with deep deep burgandy/purple flake scallops?

  22. late model yukon sport red with gold scalops

  23. I go 'Plum Crazy' over this combo. The main color is meant to be that Plymouth color with candy lavender on the lower body and lavender with a heavy metal flake on the roof. I'd think this would work just as well on a mild custom. Use some modified trim off a '57 Ford and your good to go. This has Caddy Sombrero caps but Lancers would
    look good too.

We saw an 08 Cad CTS Friday morning that was Black Cherry (factory color) Jean says "I will have a car that color" and she doesn't get excited over colors often. The car would have to be perfect to carry it off though.

  25. Dark Cherry was one of the three Impala SS colors from '94 -'96. Got used on the later 80's Monte Carlo SS and I test drove a '98 Bonneville that color as well. (Then I went and bought an old car instead.) I'll bet the Caddy color is nicer.

Off white, maybe like the late model Chrysler color or Wimbledon White from early Fords. Pick an interior color you like and scallop to that color or a color that compliments whatever you choose. The car looks like it has a good early "feel" to it so colors from the era are good choices. Kandy scallops aren't too bad or off the mark either. Don't forget the pinstripes.

Personally I'd skip the scallops and go the white with a roof color that compliments the interior. Light body, dark roof adds length and serves to enhance the chop. Maybe a small single scallop on the panel behind the back window down to the center of the decklid. Sorry I can't photoshop...I hope I wrote this so you can see it.
