We'll no one ever said I was the greatest photographer, I captured a few pics of some cars before the rain. I'll post some of the ones I liked, but realized I missed getting pics of several too. sheesh I was just lazy I guess. I'll start with one of my Plymouth before we went in. It's really one of my favorite pictures of this car. Feel free to add your own to the mix!
Like I have said in the other Cinematic posts.... I loved this show. It was something about being in an old place like the drive in. It was a shame really more didn't support it. There were only 15-20 cars that night for the movies (rods and civilians). Guess thats why alot of these places are closed down. Do yourself a favor and make plans to attend next year. Ace brown and the Ohio Valley Boys were spectacular. The movies were great. Lots of extremely friendly people. And some of the nicest traditional cars you'll see anywhere.
Thanks! I was lucky enough to get one of the awesome looking speaker/awards given out. Which was a big highlight for me.
If you don't have access to an image editing program you should see what you can scare up. If you can't crop out dead space or unwanted elements from a image in the camera then you can do it in the editor. There are few images, whether shot by an amateur or pro, that can't benefit from cropping and at least a little color/contrast correction. The drive-in image could definitely use cropping for instance whereas the one of the blue coupe with whitewalls is spot on. Additionally being able to adjust the color and contrast would help with images shot in low contrast light such as the one of your Plymouth. Cropping in the viewfinder used to be a lot easier to do but but I've observed that it seems to be a lot harder in many electronic cameras. Not sure why this is but it may have something to do with the fact that most are using the screen on the back of the camera instead a conventional viewfinder.
I think this looks like the best show to go to even if a lot of people did not show up. I feel like a ****ing jerk for not going due to other obligations, and I hope that it does not deter Ryan from doing it in upcoming years. I am making plans for Lone Star and Cinematic next year. Nothing else matters.
Probably cuz it was POURING down rain at dark and for awhile afterwards. I think everyone had plans on watching the movies but sitting in my car, in the rain, didn't sound as appealing as hanging out under the hotel portico with lots of car buds, ****tails and bench racing. Your car was *****in'. A well deserved award for sure.
Ya gotta love those old Plymouths, yours is particularly neat & clean, and that makes it outstanding.
We are SOOOO glad you and Roger did too! Like I told you, I've swap-meeted with Earl Schieb.... I am now a man! Was GREAT hanging with you two again. Cannot wait 'til the next time. - RBR
Nice Plymouth. You deserved the award. Didn't get a chance to meet you but saw your car several times. Most of the people you met are known as RYANS PEOPLE. We have been on the hamb board for awhile and enjoy each others company whenever we can get together. Are we movie stars?? NO Are we good looking...young yuppies??? NOT HARDLY!!! Do we like to party with friends and love old cars??? ABSOLUTELY!! We don't need a large number of people to have a good time so don't worry about the number of people present. it's all about QUALITY friends...not quanity.
gorgeous plymouth... with subjects like that-you don't need to be a good photographer, that's for sure. thanks for sharing.
I hope that didn't come out wrong. I wasn't ragging on anyone, just making an observation about the locals more than anything. We had 3 drive in in Ashland where I live when I was a kid. All gone now. Sad really. Glad everyone stayed dry and had fun!
