First of all, I would like to mention that the show was great and it was nice to see some friends.

The highlight of my trip was Amocat Speed, meeting up with Josh and then heading over to Hagen Auto Parts and getting a tour from Darrel.

So after flying up to WA and then driving down to the show.... I had expected Billetproof to follow in the tradition of what KIRK started . Upon arrival, I must have counted at least 25 trailers in the parking lot.... what is this? Trailer queens allowed at Billetproof??

Then I saw this (see pics)

Has Billetproof just become another greedy operation that feels they need to let every car in just to make another buck???

I want answers..............

Radial tires, disc brakes, IFS, billet galore!!!! WTF???

This was a nice coupe....unitl you saw the DIGITAL GAUGES.....

I personally love Rich's roadster and am damn impressed by the fact that he just logged some serious miles down and back for the LARS.

To each their own.

• No trailered cars (race only vehicles excepted with prior approval)
• No digital gauges (it's not traditional and it's ugly)
• No IFS on fenderless cars (it's not traditional and it's ugly)
• No mag wheels made after the 60's

possibly your panties are in a knot? I read the rules prior to going , and I noticed they weren't very strict about them. I did hear that a few cars were turned away. Is that true choptop?

Dave, thanks for stopin by the shop. Nice to see you made it by Hagens. They help us out alot and are great people. Darrell is not much of a hotrod guy, but was when he was a kid. He also left the hobbie when it became big $$$. But he love's what we do. Try to make it up on the 26th of July. It is a pretty good party.

A quick buck today will bite you in the end, I would wonder why they have the rules? are they trying to just get more of our type of cars to get people to travel and then just let anybody in......seems like a big FU to guys that are truley into period stuff.

Same deal at the recent show at Garlits. Since my car is "borderline" I called ahead. Got rejected. Seems they didn't like my plated billet dash panels or a couple of plated billet brackets. So.. I drove up anyway and took a model to enter. The idiots running the model show told me my entry was too big (1/8th scale) to enter. Fuck me dead. In the mean time, from the lot where I parked the HHR and the surrounding motels / K-mart lots I saw a great many trailer queens being unloaded and driven into Garlits. And of course, when I got there... there were more cars inside with more billet than my car.
Ok, I understand if you want to play the Spanish Inquisition on traditional cars, but (1) the least the promoters could do is make it clear on the entry form what the rules are and to invite all potential entrants to call / email ahead for confirmation and (2) fucking inforce it. Gary

I'll never understand the people that take the time to search out the bad stuff and then actually take photos of it. I mean... Damn. You're at a car show - Try not to be so cynical and enjoy yourself!

Bad shit was there? OK... cool... Make comments to your buddies. Maybe even complain to the promoter. But take pictures, post them online, and demand answers?

Looney.

Obvious violation of the Unspoken Dress Code.[IMG]

I can see how that would ruin the whole event for you.

Maybe next time, enjoy the "nice" cars,
and take fewer pictures of men's asses.

Well put Ryan! Maybe some of the complainers should try working the gate when you're trying to get 500 or so cars registered and off the street. Do some slip through, of course. Like Alan told us, we're not expected to lie down in front of an idiot with an unwanted car. Nothing's perfect. Just walk on by the stuff you don't like. Damn, it's just a car show....

The reality is that this event can be anything the promoter wants it to be.

OK yea, I was just at another plain old car show not Billetproof. What was I thinking , to expect the venue be like the early Billetproof shows where they actually turned people away because the car belonged at a street rod show or something???.......

Enjoy myself.....did you read the first part of my post? The show and trip were great!

Not when it's advertised the way it is, that's the key point, we all go to shows's where the street rods are and all you have to do is simply walk by them, I go to nsra at york and I must walk by at least 4000 cars without even a look, why do I go because of the 40-50 great cars and there owners that I see there. If your gonna advertise like that then stick to it.

26. Besides the digital gauges in that black 5-window, I heard a rumor that poser was running a BILLET crankshaft! Just how did he get through the gate?

i cant wait for digital gauges to be the traditional item of choice in 2030. Cars suck, im going to build custom furniture.

If you think it looks bad from the back try seeing it from the front... As far as the the cars that made it in with the billet ignore them and hopefully next year less of them will make it in. Over all the show was awesome.

I'm not arguing for or against Billetproof. I wasn't there, so can't comment... Although there were some pretty damn nice cars in the photo coverage.

I'm simply stating that I think the action of actually taking photos of stuff you don't like as well as men's asses (I'm only assuming you don't like those) is a bit loony. I mean, did you walk up to the guys in red pants and tell them what you thought? If not, why here?

I think your time would be better spent writing a letter to the promoter expressing your concerns rather than all of the photos, demands, etc...
