I am a rookie here, just signed up! I found this site while doing a google search on how to turn a 4 door into a 2 door and this is where i ended up. I bought an old school 55 Chevy post race car (I dont think it would be cl***ified as a G***er). It has been sitting for 20 years and the body is rusted beyond repair. The car has a nice narrowed Dana rear and the frame is in good shape and was told it was setup by Jegs in Ohio back in the day. I just really liked the way it looked. Just recently this old guy just gave me a 55 4 door Bel Air 6 cyl. that was sitting in a tobacco barn for a while. It needs floors and the trunk patched but it doesnt have as much rust as my 2 door car. So my intentions are to make the 4 door body into a 2 door and put it on the frame that has the Dana rear. I am just a guy who likes to tinker in the garage and dont have any experience with body work. But I do have a little comon since and a mig welder. I am looking forward to learning from the guys on this site! Hope I didnt boar anybody to much with my first post. Thanks, Mark
Happy to see another "Marylander" on here. I run a machine shop/welding shop for DOD so give a holler if you need any tips. I'm always glad to see someone being resourceful and working with what they've got to make what they want.
Thank you for the kind welcome mr. rc. grimes. I am sure i will need a lot of tips in the future! Its good to know guys like you. I feel right at home using this site. Mark
