Great link. I'm going to keep that one. My neighbor, I see, is having some car trouble next door, but she said that she would be over in a few minutes with some cold beers. She wants to check out theses photos, too. So, thanks for sharing... By the way...She looks good in a Big Dad's Garage t-shirt!!!
Heres the one that really hits home for me... Page 20: 1961 Ford, top down, scarf for the hair, cool gl***es, life is good. The car, the motel, the color...man, thats the way America traveled in the early 60's. I remember it well. The best food in the world was "on the road" going somewhere with the family. Good times and a great time to grow up. Perfect...
I've gone thru them a couple times ..Lot to see in the backgrounds too We sure have wasted allot of our history in America ..Glad I got see what I did, when I did
I sat my 11 year old daughter down with me and we looked at every page and every picture. It took a few hours but it was time well spent. I enjoyed telling her how things were different when I was her age (I'm 44) and explained that years and years ago highways were marked with white lines and not yellow ones, Kentucky Fried Chicken was brown and white not red and white, cop cars had only one round rotating beacon , etc. etc. ..... it made for a great morning/afternoon. Thank you, Big Dad, you made our day. And this is coming from a Canadian who appreciates Americana. Sometimes I wish that damn border wasn't there.
Great .. I was worried that some of the "musclecar" stuff would cause some unwanted grief .. amazing look at history
