It's a good thing that car was sitting on that tank. That alone is going to save you a lot of work, hopefully! You've got a great foundation there! Best of luck with it!

    Cool history, too!

    MORE pics!

  5. Hey Jimmy, She don't care, she just wants to know where I am going to put it because she want to make sure she can park in the garage this winter. Did you here anything from Hot Rod? The Copcar and Nomad still on my computer's desktop. Here are some washed pictures. Later man!

That is almost the same condition that I found my Merc in.

Very nice score. Can't beat a merc

  8. Define close, it was near Wausau. It was in a place were most people are scared to go. Only a select few people can go in there. I am just lucky enough to have known him a long time. Heck, he was even at my wedding. I have more pictures of other cars that are there. I will post some cooler ones later.
As far as plans, I would like it to look like these pictures someday that I took @ Back to the 50's.
What is an acceptable engine to put in this thing? Should I stick with a flathead or ?????????? Where's a place to buy rockers, quarters, and fender patches? What about front end and rear axles? Oh yea, and what is it worth?:D Just kidding!! It doesn't really matter because I don't think I paid to much. I also got a matching gas pump thrown in with the deal, the kids I already am paying for. Thanks for all the great responses!!!!!!!

  9. What a great rescue! The car really looks to be in good shape - and almost 100% complete . . . you're one lucky dude.

    Best of luck!

Great haul. And it still has the original AM radio with knobs.
As far as engines, a dressed out flathead would be nice if it is going to be a local cruiser but if it is intended to be a reacher I think I'd put a more modern engine in it. A 302 or 351 Windsor should fit with the right pan and you could run a matching over drive manual or automatic. A V8 Grenada, Monarch or Lincoln Versise might provide the whole drivetrain.

Wow! Looks just like start of Finnish Hot Rod or Kustom! :D
Except, your Merc is in better condition and there is much less snow in the forest!

Too cool man! I dig it. Lots of work, but definately a "score"!!
No, I haven't heard from Hot Rod other than the tech sheet and waivers they wanted me to fill out. Hope to hear from them sometime!
