Well, parts of one. A few months ago swdobbs here on the Hamb posted a picture of this truck that he bought some doors off of: I noticed it's a 32 pickup, and wondered what would happen with the frame. I contacted swdobbs, who put me in touch with the owner. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! It was priced right, so needless to say I bought it. One rail is bent were the truck was frozen to the ground with no axles under it, and when a farmer tried to lift it up to move it with a tractor, bent a rail right in front of the K memeber. Should not be too hard to fix. Other than tha it is a decent frame, perfect for my A roadster project. So, I planned for me, my Girlfriend Jamie and our Dog Lucy to do a little 4th of July camping adventure. This frame was 400 miles away from me, and with gas prices so high I figured the ol Subaru would work so I barrowed a small boat trailer and off we went. We picked it up Friday morning in Bozeman, then headed back twards home, but camped overnight on Lolo P***, MT. It was really beautiful. The next day we headed twards Troy, ID for my family reuinion, it is our Family's 100th year on this farm. My Dad had his 23 Model T there, and everyone got to drive the big tractor around! It dwarfed everything! Sorry for the rambling, but thats how I spent my 4th of Juky weekend. Two and a half days, and 900 miles later, I am the pround new owner of a bent up ol 32 Ford frame
Hey what the heck! A picture of the dog ,but none of the girl? hahahahahahahahahah............ JUST pulling your (DOG) chain........
Lucy looks like she is REAL DETERMINED ... that no one is going to mess with that Deuce ch***is. Family, friends ... and the dog ALL on a holiday, sounds like a great weekend to buy a 32 frame CONGRATULATIONS
Nice find! Just noticed the front crossmember did Ford use the same one for V8's and B engines, that one looks different to me for some reason.
Got to love montana I got 2 1932 ford tudor sedan bodys there. One was good the other was rough but neither one had any rust and they add been setting outside for over 50 years each. Plus there is some great thing to see besides old car parts.
Thanks guys, Montana, Idaho and Washington are beautiful and still have good old stuff everywere. The plans for the frame are kinnda skechy. I have been building a Model A roadster in my head for years, and have picked up and an engine, ******, 32 rear end, heavy axle, steering box and some other misc. parts. All I really need is a wishbone and pedals and I will have lmost everything to make it a complete roller. The frame is a HUGE chunk of the puzzle, and now all I need is a body This has been an ongoing collection for about 5 years, so I do not think this car will be built and on the road anytime soon ...but when it does it will be on the Hamb
Here is some of the gems we found on our trip. No one was home at this shop, but these cars are sitting right on highway 12 just south of Missoula. Maybe there a Hamber??
Acording to the guy I got it from, it is an early frame. The K memeber is a bit different, as well as the front crossmemeber. I really have no clue, I am deffinetly not a 32 expert.
Very cool! I too have a project "born on the 4th of July", a 50 Merc. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=276844
Chris, 600 miles to Billetproof and back, then 400 miles to Bozeman and back? in two weekends? Dude, you are a Major Road Driver! Way to go! B
Chris, Looks like you had a great time all in all.Good score on the frame. Will the roadster be Banger powered?
No, flattie. I have a pretty nice 59AB and early trans. It will be kinnda typical, but I love the early roadster look.
Yeah, and I'm beat. We drove the diesel to Billetproof- 650 miles round trip cost me 300.00!!!!! We went 900 miles round trip in the Suby, cost me 150.00!!!!!!!! The diesel does not get driven much anymore
Nothing wrong with TYPICAL,Chris!Early as in Pre-war or Early post-war?either way I'm sure it'll be a Great HOT ROD.
Probably early post war. Un-split wishbone, heavy un-dropped axle. I will reverse the eyes on the spring but I want it to sit kinnda high. Juice brakes and a chopped, layed back windshield. Deuce shell and BLC's. I have a super nice hood for a 30/31, but may go 28/29. I'm kinnda on the fence as far as year of the body, probably the first one to come along will be it Kinnda along the lines as this awesome car...only not a 32 (I can't afford it )
