  2. Thanks for the pics.
We just got home but we had a blast. There were much better quality cars there this year than in past years.

    Thanks again.

The quality of the vehicles at the show this year was outstanding! Chicken's van beat out a VW pickup thing (I don't know VWs too well) and s slew of other rat and not-so-rat styled trucks. I think we all jumped it's bones at first sight.

The sedan that Primo posted above won Club choice awards from two clubs. I think it's fricken flawless! And Primo, ya also got a a few pics of my wife in her skivvies drinking a beer after getting mauled in the mud pit! Hilarious.

I gotta say i was surprised! Alot of great traditional rides there, but still a good amount of crappy "rat rods" too:rolleyes:. I'm just hoping to see more good quality rides from now on! I think i fell in love with that sedan pictured above, I dont know how many times I circled that thing.

That Sedan is really something to see in person. It's beautiful and is owned by a HAMB member named Sinticket. I had a pretty good time even though I was only there for a couple hours. I am sort of glad I did not see the "Mud Wrastlin" but the cars were not too shabby!

Just got home from HRW. As usual, a freakin' blast! I got to sit in that low sedan. Holy crap! I've never felt so clostrophobic. Real nice car. Met some cool new people there. Squindo, the dudes from Razor Custom Paint. Camera broke. Sorry no pics.

Hey Igor it was cool seeing you again also, and finally getting one of your shirts lol........and vivalahotrod it was cool meeting you and your better half you got me wanting to go to Japan now lol

  18. Hey man, I didn't get the chance to say congrats on the award. That's too cool. That van looked very cool. You guys deserve it.

Also, The Sean Vesely Award was very cool as he was a close friend to myself and our whole club, especially Dustin. It was given to the most deserving people, Dave Quick. Without him and the rest of the crew Heavy Rebel would not be the cool event that it is.

Next year there have been talks of a "What The Fuck Were You Thinking?" award given. I don't think we could find just one winner.

Again, Heather and I had a blast. The ride to and from was the funnest part. It was 6 of us; '51 Plymouth, '54 DeSoto, '31 Model A Sedan, '35 Dodge Pick Up, '57 Chevrolet Pick Up and a '47 Chevrolet Pick Up.

I'll post a few pics of our trip soon.

Chicken, it was good to meet ya. We just got home and I am not sure how to go back to not drinking like a teen mode. Congrats to all that won and I agree that the cars were nicer this year than in the past. There were and probably always will be the guys with the shock factor " I have a toy rat hanging from a rust hole" rods, but the other quality rides more than made up for it this year.

I think we were all thinking the same thing. And lets be honest, there were about a 50/50 Good to Bad car ratio there as could be expected. But the ratio of good people was much much higher.

Igor was a cool dude, hopefully I can get my car out to the next one and get him to lay down some lines. (maybe)

The award for Sean was the least we could do he was one of the first friends I made at that show. I hated I never got the chance to hang out at his shop after all the invites just to show up with beer and look through old magazines lol. I think the best we could all hope for after we pass is to have as many people remember us in a good way as sean did.

Way to go Bab Bob,you have proven to be a dick head two years in a row!

  26. Tell me what's traditional about that car,and i'll "un-dick" myself!
    Caddy tailights?
    front tires?
    ifs?
Looks like it COULD have been a bitchin car! I do like the fact that it isn't a rusted POS.

I have to agree with Bob, there are a few things really fucking wrong with that car. Could have been a cool ride...

  28. Thanks for the pics. I went last year and had a blast. Pissed I couldn't make it it this year. A lot of good people, great bands, and some pretty cool cars.
Hope to see more trad cars show up next year, but it is a good time if you let it!

I don't care for the car either, but,it could have stayed buried in the link to Primo,s photos.OR........we could drag it out in the open and trash the guys car.I don't know that there is any thing traditional about that car,but I just decided to pass it up,as apposed to trashing the guys ride.

Seems like we had the same argument last year.I guess some things never change.
