Nice I like it... usually i don't like that grille but it looks good on your rig... I agree with you about the Rake of the windshield but all in all I like the truck... is it an early 50's cab?

There are some well thought out trucks but with it being such a huge and growing fad, more and more it is turning into the home for those with no sense of proportion. Like taking something to extreme is the only glimmer of originality some people can muster.

That's OK Rick, I understand you are a little slow since you are from California, it takes a while for you guys to "get it"...well, except for Rudy. Ha Ha Ha

I was kinda partial to this old rusty piece of shit, and of course my trusty old road dog the spacetruck. I didn't think either looked like abortions, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess.

Did you bend a production grill?

Or it the whole thing custom made ?

    Unkl Ian...

It's all fabricated. The "shell" started out as a '50 Chevy truck radiator support, turned upside down, on which I built a 1/4" rod "frame", and then wheeled/hammered/bent 20ga sheetmetal.

The "insert" is 1/4" rod, as well. if you look closely, you'll see the insert has an opening for the spring perch.

I did notice the spring perch.

Very convincing job on the shell.
I'm sure the differences are obvious beside a real one,but it looks very good.

Yeah, I may be slow ... Shows when i drive in L.A. as all the Rich Fuckers in there 'spensive cars blow by at 95 weaving thru Mud thick traffic.

But didnt Rudy Pioneer this type of truck ? Here in Cali ?, With THE BEST late fenderless truck ?:D

I still dont get it... And prefer a Stock bed & fenders on Fat trucks.

But i can have my opinion... Cant I ? Maybe not.. Ohh Well,Fuck It !

BY THE WAY... The new Picture Feature SUCKS ASS !

your truck reminds me of Dennis Gauge. :) I'm not trying to be a jerk, I just see him in the front view.

I have to admit I'm torn on the iron crosses even they look expertly done. I really cant wait to see what this ends up looking like. It's got that edge to it that might make it amazing if you don't try to do too much for shock value.

There are some amazing trucks posted... that blue RPU for example.

and there are some fine examples of how not to do it...

I can't wait for the "me too" crowd to find the next cool thing and go away.

    Thirdyfivepickup...

The Maltese cross frame rails came about as a function of a guy who ordered a set from me changing his mind, and going with plain...ergo, I had 'em, why not use them.

The Dennis Gauge reference is a new one. I don't see it, but I understand your point of view. I might add that you may want to consider your emotional commitment to Dennis Gauge :)

And short of an 8" top chop, 16" sweep in the rear frame rails, 11" "Kevorkian" front perch, liberally drilled axle and wishbones, a solidly mounted over-cammed motor, drum brakes, 4" ride height, bias ply tires and a 4:11 posi....the vehicle exhibits nothing for the sake of "shock value"! :)

That would be immature on my part, and an insult to those among us that use a cuff-o-meter.

Yeah, I guess I came across as a little bit of a jerk. Sorry

I probably would have been better off saying "I admire the craftsmanship and quality of work, but some elements aren't my taste."

Or I could have just kept my mouth shut. :D

I mean it when I say I am looking forward to seeing this one upon completion.

My emotional commitment to Dennis is all I have... court ordered....

    Here my fenderless truck....

Perpotions are what can make or break the over all look.
This is what I did with my truck to give it the look I have.

1938 Ford pickup cab (channeled 10 inches)
1934 ford car frame (z'd and boxed)
Ford F1 Bed (Shortend 24 inches)
    Gennie wheels, 40 ford caps.

I drive the crap out of it.

the original fenders for the front of my pick up are suppose to be more flat like the 34 ford.
the rear are suppose to be little on fat side. Course my truck did not come with fenders.
Unlike, the person who gets a complete model A, model T, or 32 and sells this stuff off.
So, if my truck should have fenders let me know and I will give you my address so that you can send me early to mid 30 fenders.

here is mine trying to come up with a grill design not too fond of the one that is on it now.

  25. 38pickup, I see some very clean work on the fuel lines and fuel block. I like it. But it clashes with the rusty door bottom. Take the part of your brain that likes the plumbing and let it fix the body.

  26. I don't think you'll catch any shit over this one. Nice truck!

P.S. But what's up with the pickle jar with the green stuff on the firewall; doesn't look like a radiator overflow...

    Funky colour aint it!
It is the overflow. There is a copper tube that comes out the jar and along the grill shell support and into the radiator. I haven't seen coolant that colour though. At least not over here.
Truck was built by Steve at Limeworks speedshop so there is a bit of a green theme running through.

My pu......I'm either gonna sell it, part it out (to build a coupe), or redo it more towards an early 60's style street/drag racer......similar to Dave's truck above.....that thing RULES!
