I have never shipped a car before but I am looking at needing a 37 Ford Pickup Shipped from KS to TX.

    What companies would you recommend?

    Any bad experiences or tips?

Bored have a truck and trailer? I will pay you to pick up and drop off the truck

    Thanks for all the info.

I've used Passport Transport twice - very good. I was burned by doing an internet seacrh and picking the cheapest "shipper" who turned out to be a broker who tried to find space on a trailer ... maybe... I had to have VISA get my money back when they failed to show up on time.

I did research on several and finally decided to rent a trailer and go get it. Thats my recommendation if you can make it happen.

Sent a pm to Ben D, passport only has enclosed and that is a little overkill for the rust bucket I am going after. Anyone ever used Express Auto Transport? They are a broker, but my dads friend used them no problem. I guess we will see.

Some of these transporters won't haul a non running car. I had that trouble trying to ship an Elkie to Kentucky a couple of years ago.

Marcy got the tuck to the shop, It was wonderful dealing with her and I would highly recomend anyone looking to ship something stay away from the big firms and give her a call. She was very easy to deal with and gave me a great price.

    Thanks Marcy!

how about the west coast--trying to get a car from Sac to LA and the brokers are giving a friend a big time runaround--supposed to ahve been to pick up the card for 5-6 days now-it's a running, drivable car.

I used Uship.com it works on an ebay style method where shipper bid or make offers to haul your stuff. I found it a little slow to get hooked up with a shipper but I got a good guy looking for a back load which worked for both of us.
Cost was a little under the expected so that was good also.

Seems if you put the effort in on this site you can do OK.
