I was wondering if the fine folks here on this site had a preference over: JEGS brand, Aeromotive, Barry Grant, Fram, Mallory, Summit brand, Spectre Pro-Plumbing, Perma-Cool Fuel, AEM, or System 1 brands for a in-line canister racing style fuel filter!

I think they all do a good job, I have been using a fram canister for a few year and have had no problems with them.

I like to use the one from AC Delco. Has a 3/8th line for in/out and has a nice cannister. The filter really does a good job. The same filter is used on some late model Corvettes with fuel injection ( and you know how sensitive they are to trash ).

always have good luck with the Fram filters

  5. That WAS the GF62C, it has been discontinued:( We talked about it in another thread. I am bummed. I sold a TON of those at the rodshop. Dont do the chrome one with red top, at least the knockoff not the actual Fram. Myself and vintagehotrods got them and they leaked like a seive until we redid the seals. These were the Performance Products brand, our 2 are NOT the only ones I saw leaks on.

  9. Make your own.

A single oil filter remote bracket.

A Wix fuel filter same physical size and threads as the Fram PH8A oil filter.

Mount & plumb it and you're done.

You can also make a new ****** with a smaller thread on one end than the remote filter bracket came with. (These are 3/4-16 on both ends stock.)

Then run a smaller Wix fuel filter - #33358 if I remember right, check first.

Works well and Wix fuel filters state right on the box and filter that they are fuel filters.

Filter is behind the fuel pump in the pic.

  10. Unless the picture is flipped I believe the 62P mounts on the LEFT frame rail, see the inlet and out markings? kinda a pain on something like a small block with the stock mechanical pump.

After we have discussed this one a few times i am starting to lean towards C9s method unless I fing a trick OEM setup to replace the beloved Delco unit:eek:

  11. Tman, fwiw, the little Wix filters last a long time.

The larger one as noted above would probably need replacing about the time your guilty conscience kicked in....

Is there any reason you couldn't use a marine style spin on fuel filter? I've got one sitting on the shelf and looks like it would work perfectly.

  13. You mean the marine fuel filter onto the remote oil filter bracket?

If the gasket and thread matches I don't see why not.
