I am trying to get the History of my car. It is a 1951 Ford 2 Door Coupe. It was chopped 4 1/2" and other body work done. I bought the car, I think around 1995, out of San Luis Obispo, California. While at a meet in Bakersfield, Ca. a guy told me he thought a man named "Bill" build the car in the 70s. Thanks for any help.
Gotta love that grille, searched for a long time for one of those, hadn't seen on a car since the 60s on a buddy's older brothers car. Finally got one sent it to the plater and then went to the unfinished nats and low and behold there were 3 shoeboxes there with my dream grille, 2 in the show and 1 in the parking lot. So its now just sitting and will never be mounted on my 51, its scheduled to get the 51 Meteor grille I searched for even longer and finally found thru the HAMB.
Hey when I was a punk kid in San Luis Obispo I used to work at a used car dealership for this crazy cat who owned that car. How are you Johnny?
Who says coupes dont look right chopped? Takes more work to chop a coupe VS. a sedan. This is another great example. Definitely an older chop like my coupe, I havent seen any guys chop a couple lately to look perportunately nice in my opinion. Sorry I cant either help though.
I'm not sure if this is the car exactly but it looks crazy familar. I live in Buellton which is part of the santa Ynez Valley. San luis is nearby and considered part of a community which includes the santa barbara area....anywho this car looks super familiar to me. There is a tribe of Chumash Indians here in the valley and I've known alot of them. One kid here with the last name Gonzales had a grandfather that had a ****load of cars. He Had a shoebox just like this. It was the exact same color with ghost flames and chopped. Even had those wheels and pinner whites. I don't know where he got that car but he drove it around here and showed it alot. When he died all of his cooler cars got sold off...like his duece roadster and this car. This car ended up right up the street from me at a used car dealer. It's on Avenue of the Flags and is called "Cars With A K". Harold Teggy is the owner of that place and he is a car guy too. I'm pretty sure he bought it, though it could of been on consignment. Anyways it was sold and I didn't see it for a year or two until i saw it cruising around the Paso Robles Carshow and I think I saw a san Luis Adress on the show tag in the window. that's about all I know of that car.....it was my fave for a long time.Hope someone has more to add....be nice to know who built it.
