After one year (2007) of being on the show staff I'm happy to say I'll be back in my regular swap spots this year... AS-11 and AS-12. Just south of the TOWER on the blacktop road or just a few spots west of Gate 2.

I'll have the remaining inventory of my flattie collection... mostly heads, intakes, water pumps, a few oil pans, flywheels, clutch covers, etc. No speedy parts.

Plus a rust free '67 Mustang, maybe a Triumph TR2 and a TR-7, one or two Ford 8 inch rears, misc Ford transmissions, a MOPAR 904 trans. and maybe a couple of Hemi engines... maybe.

Oh yeah... I've also got a Tolkheim 37 gas pump.

I'm getting too old to lug this shit around anynore.

HAMB'ers are always welcome... free cold soda and a place to sit and rest.

    See you there...

I'll be there is spaces G-12 & G-13, attempting to sell some junk that I don't need. I'll probably have a $1 pile to stay competitive with the neighbors.
    See ya there!

  4. We'll be over to BS a little. We are bringing the kids and going camping!

  5. BN 5, 6, 7, 8, same as last year. Not sure what I will bring yet, I haven't barely started to pack....but I charged the A/C on the short bus today, so at least I will stay cool.

  6. We will be there early as well. Try to get there a little earlier and you can ride back to Oshkosh with us and hang out at my shop most of the day. We drop our stuff in line and beat it back to town to get a few things done then go back just before the gates open. Works excellent, done it more than once now.

i will be working the garbage "environmental specialist" detail at iola this year with my entire family. (the people driving the 6 wheeled gators with trailers picking up trash) Its kinda nice having a cabin 7 miles away from the swap meet.

If you see a heavily tattooed guy in a Tan sleeveless "environmental specialist iola 2008" shirt thats me.

This morning as I was cruising into the office (Old Cars Weekly Magazine) I noticed that there were already roughly 100 swap vendors lined up out in the staging area...ready to roll onto the car show grounds and start setting up today at 3 p.m. CST.

Since I have been itching for weeks for the show to get underway, I took a moment on my lunch break to run outside of the office and take a few photos of the cars that are already on the grounds.

Also, Dan Halverson has been busy setting up our streaming video cams that are mounted around our offices and on the Car Show Tower, be sure to check out the cams to see all the action later today as the swapmeet vendors start setting up.
