I need a pick up. Nothing real serious but still need a useable bed. I want a traditional rod. How do I combine the two. Advice and pics are greatly appreciated.....Thanks in advance.

There's a TON of thread's concerning trucks with everything from form to function..
The first thing i'd ask myself is do i want it to look traditional or BE traditional..
I asked myself the same thing..I was more concerned with having it fully functional and easily fixed on the side of the road..basically, being able to go to a local part's store to get a part if needed instead of going crazy trying to find a part 50 years old to replace whatever broke while stranded away from home...
I'm personally doing a 52 chevy truck on an S-10 frame..
Look's old outside, but with a modern skeleton. Ch***is part's are readily available and pretty cheap, ride's, handle's and steers like an S-10....not that that's a great thing but it's not bad either.
There's many way's to go..like i said, do a search on here and you will have many idea's to ponder.

Or F-1 on an F-1. Those old trucks can be great just how they are. :)
