I've got a 322 buick nailhead and was wondering what all flywheels will work on it. It's going to have a manual trans. Thanks for any info or nudges in the right direction.

I think all 53 to 56 will fit but I think there are different clutch sizes. There is a big and little trans and bellhousing. The bell for the big trans can be modified fairly easly to fit a Chevy 4 speed. A 56 Buick pilot bushing will work with a Chevy input shaft.

This is an old thread, but...

The information I've found is that the 322 flywheel is NOT the same as the 264, and therefore not interchangable.

------that's correct, Todd; The 264's are internally balanced (no vibration damper on the crank pulley) and the 322's externally.
