Hi, I'm a pretty new hamber and pretty poor, age and money. Anyway I'm going to get a project car for school. So far it looks like 63 Buick Special coupe has my eye. Its got a 215. I'm kinda a Buick nut, so this has got me going. Anyway I would like to take it away from the muscle car look and make it a tough looking custom. Don't really like the finished look to much. That doesn't mean I don't want it to be done right. So what can be done to make it look kinda like those primer, bare metal, low, whitewall, pinstirpe, fenderskirted , flame thrower cars. Not a rat rod, that fad actually kinda bugs me. I don't like the fad end of it. Too many people think they are the same style. Similar looking, kinda. The same, no. Anyway I really like the back tailights of a 63 era falcon, or maybe some of those cone looking ones. Don't know about the front, don't like how the hood ends and headlights blend to fenders. I would rather the hood be sharper ending and the grill set back a few inches. Trying to include a pic, don't now if it will work. ANY IDEAS???? *******************************( just in caps so you see it, incase you don't wan't to read my book)
I'd sit it on the ground, keep those tails, and go full 60's style on it...supremes, pinner whites, panel, or laced paint...minor mods tot he headlights and a tube grille..throw some sculpted tuck n roll, and call her done..haha I know what its like to have no budget..but if you have the end result in your head, I seem to accomplish more..haha
thanks, yeah budget sucks. But I can do labor like all hell. So junk yard peices work, just rather build than buy.
I love those cars, I had one when they were brand new. Mine had a 4 speed and it hauled ass. I would love to get one of those engines to put in my '40. I would just lower it, shave the nose and deck and slap a bitchen' paint job and wheels. It will look sweet.
hey is that from motion unlimited. i was droolin over that thing before i got my ride. i love the color with the chromies. cool car!!
Yeah it is, where are you from. I'm going to the Hot Rod Institute over by the mall. I didn't get it yet, but have talked the guy into holding it for me. Hope nobody swipes it before I officially buy it.
I'm about 60 years old but as I remember those GM "compacts" looked pretty good lowered with reverse chrome wheels and baby moons. If it were mine that's what I'd do.
