Here is a copule of pics from the drags at Beaver Springs today. This is a very nice event that Bob and the gang at the Beaver put on. Alot of racing history in one place and some good racing.

Cool picts. Glad someone took some for me to view after the fact.

It is pretty demanding putting on a show of this size to keep things moving along so that the ending time doesn't get too late for spectators and curb racers to get home real late. I never did make it to the show car area because my attention was fixed at getting cars down the track, flag starting and coordinating the flow of the intermisison legends interview and car show awards parade lap. Unfortunately, even though we started an hour earlier this year with the start of the first round of eliminations, rain came in on us and halted racing after the first two pair went down the track. We waited and dried the track, got cars in the lanes and it rained again. We waited and dried the track and were about to go racing when it rained again. It continued to rain off and on all night long. We finally called the show off at 5:30. What a dreadfully premature end to the day. Even though Jon Lundberg kept re***uring me that the rain was beyond our control, it still didn't help sooth the disappointment of not completing the race and feeling like we had left the racers and fans down. Beaver Bob and I hope that those who did attend were satisfied with what they did get to see and how the day was conducted up until the rains came. We also hope that the fans are not detered from coming back next year and that they keep in mind how hard the line crew worked to dry the track twice to get the show on the move, but in the end, it was just not meant to be.
Arnie Beswick was such a pleasure to meet and talk with. What a cool legend of the sport. Wally Bell called Beaver and left him know how much he enjoyed the day, as well as a few others. We had about 36 super stockers to head line the event and the new Jr Stocker cl*** was also well recieved this year too.
Our next big event that is similiar to the Nostalgia Nats is in early August - Flashback Friday. Also, the Jalopy Showdown Drags will be run on Oct 4 of this year, which is going to be another "must attend event" that die hard HAMBERS will want to add to their list of shows to attend. Hope to see you in the lanes!

It ****s that the rain stopped show. I left after the first rain started only because chopo is a skirt and didn't want to get wet.
Can wait or the Showdown Drags.

Hey 46 Mopar , Thanks for the photo op . That is my son and I sitting on the back of the golf cart in your first picture. It is to bad we only got to see qualifying p***es and none of the race. I had a great time anyway and recommend the show to anyone who likes nostalgia racing. You can not pick a better track for it than the Beaver.

I hated to see the rains come !! First round of NSS cl***..I had just done my burn out and the starter waved me off...rain drops on windshield. I felt bad for everyone, from spectators to racers to the track. What a bummer..
    I haven't missed a York Race since it started...it is a hell of a event !!!

The Bones-Dubach-Pisano Willys is a fantasy car. It was a race car (Benjaman Trucking, I think). It got sold and the new owner painted the names on it. Wrong color and all. Mike
