Here are some pictures of the 18.5 gallon gas tank in my Coupe. Took out the cheap Hagen Fuel door and put in something more traditional. Also put in a steel bulkhead between the passanger compartment and rumble area. Even have room to put stuff ontop of the tank...........................am stoked..................just waiting for the motor so we can fire this Bad Boy up!
Looking good. Do you have a close-up of the cap? Also give us some dimensions (cap size , base size). Frank
Hope this is a little closer shot. I think the base is about 4-1/2" long by 2-7/8" wide. It's SS and I think is basically a marine item, although I bought it on the dreaded Xbay. Just got tired of the small little die cast ones made in China. It is a 2" opening. As for collecting dust/dirt........................this is going to be a driver, not a show car, and a little compressed air and water will take care of that. I just love the look.............and it looks 1000% better than the cheap Hagen fuel door.
Yep, the tank is hand made. Actually made by a friend, Dale Caufield at Weedetr Street Rods, in Red Bluff, CA. He does some killer work at his shop and has been in quite a few magazines, plus he is a great guy.
