Im gonna be in vegas for a few days. any auto or aircraft museums there? Ive never been. i dont gamble and i dont wanna be board while the wife sits by the pool, LOL Thanks you stinking gearheads! FRITZ
When I lived out there, about 10 years ago, you could go out to the desert and shoot. I THINK the Imperial Palace has a kick *** auto museum....it's the casino sorta across from Caesar's Palace.
The top few floors of the Imperial Palace parking garage are enclosed. There is an interesting bunch stuff in there. Great way to kill an hour or two. LV Motor Speedway is cool to check out. The garage community is home to top fuel, Nascar, off-road... a lot leave the rollup doors open and you can check out who's inside. Carrol Shelby's Cobra operation is there too. I think around 4pm (weather permitting) the Thunderbirds take off from Nellis AFB, and practice stuff right there. The speedway is a good vantage point for that. The Dam is awesome. Go see it. As for the strip, New York, New York is pretty funny for a real New Yorker to see. Watch the boat sink in front of Treasure Island once. The Bellagio fountain is kinda hokey too, but still free. Lotsa stuff to see. Just stay away from the slots. Or do like I do, and play the buffet! The hotel has lost money by the time I get full. Go have fun, Bil
Ditto what Poncho said... If you haven't checked out Hoover Dam, you really should..!! they have neat tours and info booths etc... So awesome to check out in person... Plus they are supposed to be building a huge bridge just down from the dam to help aleviate traffic now too.... In Vegas I hear there is an Olympic Gardens you might want to check out as well... oh, and ALWAYS play the 'max bet' on the slot machines.... 2 out of 3 times to Vegas I've won $500 on nickle slots that way..!!! Have fun..!! Later... -Snacks....
Take the Helicopter trip over to the Grand Canyon. My brother rented a Harley in Vegas and rode over there. Hoover Dam is awesome too. It's only 4 hours to LA (by car)........lots of neat stuff there....... PM Gracie......she lives there.....get the insiders info.
Call me when you get here, and I'll take you out to the Shelby plant, its kind of interesting, if your into the Type II anyway. Lots of good junkyards too... the Imperial Palace museum ****s now... they sold off the good stuff after the old man died. 702-324-5797
Check out www.dyno-flo.com in Henderson they have new premises, its worth a look if you have time to kill. There is also a neon sign grave yard too!
well im thinking i'll try the nickel slots, im more into how a slot machine works then winning from it. also wanna try the 1/2 pound hot dog at "slots of fun" . Vacation is a real food thing for me, and a free buffet **** yah! im there. it sounds like there aint much of the custom car kinda thing to do. I wish Reno was closer Id go to see the beatnik bandit! every time i think of Vegas i think of that movie "Corvette Summer" what a hoot. FRITZ
No..., nothing to do in Vega's they're to small and you'd get cramps trying to do anything in them ! I suggest a bigger car if I were you...! "OH...", you mean Las Vegas..., "No"..., that's why it's a Ghost town... ! Leave Las Vegas and do the Dam thing and Grand Canyon...! You'll save money and it'll blow your mind! Mark
I'm a really weird guy when it comes to vacations ,I'm the only guy that would ever admit he was bored on a cruise ship but I can find tons of stuff in Vegas. We go every fall and do the drags but downtown Fremont street is neat,The hock shops are overflowing with stuff, Everybody has to hock their **** to get money to get home. There is a place,I think it's called Boulder county Museum on the southeast side of town ,another good museum right north of downtown ,red rock canyon,The damn dam,Nudie bars everywhere you look, the Rio buffett is awesome .There is the biggest damn flea market I ever seen on the north east side on the way to To the race track and Air Force base. I have walked several hrs. there and still didn't see it all. Awesome town ,I would move there in an instant if the Mrs. would go.
I get so sick of the dam Hoover when I'm in Vegas, the dam maids start using them at 6:30 a.m which is about when I start drifting off into sleep. Make sure you have all your ducks in a row when you get a m***age so as to avoid any misunderstandings between parties.
One of my favorite places in the world is in Vegas.... The Peppermill lounge! http://www.vegas.com/nightlife/bars/peppermill.html If you do decide to throw money away gambling... Do it down on Freemont.. old school area. The pay-outs down there are soo much better. NEVER gamble at the Hard Rock! Believe it or not (and I am not a big lay out by the pool person) but some of the coolest pools in the world are in Vegas..... The pool at the Hard Rock is really cool... It is the only pool in the world (or so they say) that has an underwater sound system... You can hang out in the pool, and when you go under you can still hear the music! Also.... My favorite mexican resturant in at the Hard Rock Casino.... The Pink Taco Ran into Ron Jeremy there..... The best homemade flour tortillias EVER! Get the chicken Fajitas! Caesars Palace has like 3-4 pools and the one in the back right corner (as you walk outside) is *******!!!!! It is a stripper hangout. You can also chill in the pool at Caesars and these almost naked wench like chicks come around and feed you g****s! Now, I don't like g****s, but I ate em that day! The pool at Mandalay Bay is really cool of you are a big lazy slob like me.... they have a lazy river and you can take your drink in with you! Float on a tube, get drunk, fall asleap... and a bunch of the lazy river area is shaded... DO NOT ride the roller coaster at New York, New York! It is painful! If you are into coasters, ride the one at Circus Circus! I don't know if you are into punk, but the Double down bar is cool.... It is in the Gay-borhood, but it is straight up old school punk rock... like the chick on Real World San Diego! http://www.doubledownsaloon.com/ And remember.. you are so money that you don't even know how money you are!!!!! HC p.s. The Sigfried and Roy show has been cancelled indefinetly ... sorry, I had to do it!

[/ QUOTE ] Nads is right, in my experience, if you line up the ducks (or gerbils, whatever floats your boat), the "m***age the******s" spends less time chasing after them, chasing time is billable.

If you rent a car go out to Red Rock Canyon. It costs five bucks but it is butiful. It about 14 miles if I remember correctly. We were there in January and it was cold and rainy the whole time. We rented a 6 speed Vet and drove around the desert. Red Rock was by far the best thing we saw.
I cannot belive that no-one has suggested on of my favs.......get a killer rental car...get the MAX insurance..go out to the desert do donuts until it ****s out....had a buddy almost roll one and the whole front end gave out....calle dthe place they sent a tow truck with a new car on the back of the flatbed..... no questions asked!..he thought he would have to go through a big h***el and a bunch of questions....tow truck driver looked at the mess and said "looks like a lot of fun" R E D M E A T
I had fun shooting a machinegun at an indoor rifle range when I was there. This was pretty cool to an Aussie anyway.
