The Texas plates thread reminded me to ask about running YOM tags in Tennessee. Everyone tells me it's legal to do in TN, but no one has any proof to back it up with and when I got my tags renewed, I asked the ladies there and they couldn't find anything either. So, is it legal or not in Tennessee to run YOM license plates in place of antique or regular tags? If it is, does anyone know where I could get a copy of the law saying so so that I have it on hand if anyone ever tries to ticket me for it?
I found the following quote: And here is the source: http://tennessee.gov/revenue/legsumm/2007legsumm.htm#pc601
Been running them for years, I just always keep a up to date one with me.But know as you have seen in the above post,You can take your old one to the county clerk and register it, As long as its legible(not beat up and rusty etc.)
Hey this is cool, I had no idea they had p***ed such a thing. Anybody have a decent condition '55 plate, (preferably with the Knox Co. 3 prefix) they would like rid of?
a friend of mine had year of make tag on his willys, they made him get a normal tag like on a daily driver and then renew his tags each year on it. He could run the old tag he just had to have the other one in the car with him. Oh I dont know how to figure the prefix things out but Im in Greene Co. and I think we were 12 or 13
