Okay first off, I'm not trying to start any fights, I,ve read most of the positive and negative comments about these type of trucks on here. Not trying to classify or title this as any type of build, don't really care. It's just what I've been working on and having fun. I'm going to paint it a solid flat color, and tilt the bed up a little more in the back to match the lines of the cab, it's just mocked up now. Should be done when gas is about 7 bucks a gallon, sweet timing! Just thought I'd share, love the HAMB, thanks!

I dont dislike these trucks except when they are executed poorly, yours seems to have nice proportions. It looks like you are on the right track.

yeah, you didn't go for the "look at me" overly extended wheel base... you didn't slide the cab back 10" and use a lunchbox as a bed...

You did it right. I think it looks good.

(of course those beds always look like they could be raised, or the cab channeled, to get the two to line up a little better)

Yeah, I like yours. It does not look like a cartoon version of itself. And like others have said, I too like the beds on those raised a little to line up with the cab a little better.

As long as you dig it and you're having a good time with it is all that matters. Looks good so far.

I like it, the proportions are there. It seems to lean in all the right places.

I'd be curious to see a shot from the rear. It seems that the bed is in the right place now. Very nice truck.

Here's a shot from the rear. The bumper is going away, did not work out the way I liked. Not 100% sure I'll use one, but probably. I have a wrap-around bumper from a corvair that has a nice look to it that I might use, it just needs to be narrowed. I kinda like the idea of a bumper because it makes the bed look lower than it really is in the back and evens out the bottom line of the bed skirts, I wanted the bed to be even with the cab bottom but not lowered. By raising the bed I mean just tilting up the back a little more so it follows the rake of the cab. Thanks guys.

It doesn't look like a rat, the proportions are nice and it doesn't appear that you're going to glorify rust. I got no problems here!

I like it. Like the others said the leaning is in all of the right places. I say raise the bed up 1" in the front and 1&1/2" in the back to match the rake on the body lines of the truck so the bed doesnt sit so level. Just my thought but either way its lookin great.

  19. I'm not a big fan of those either, but it looks pretty well done. One of the Cavaliers has a really nice burgandy one. I'm steering more towards the painted cars, lately. When I say that I mean, not the rusty ones...

If Peckerhead likes it, so do I. As said before, nice proportions, not over the top. I would say it is one of the better examples to surface in the last year, maybe two.

You're right, tilt the bed to match the rake of the cab. Other than that, looks great.

  26. Looks great! I like it. Pretty cool project.

It might just be the lens of the camera or the lines on the truck behind it playing tricks on my eyes, but it looks like if it were possible to move the top of the grill about 1/2" lower, it seems like it might flow with the cab a little better. Or probably shimming the front of the cab up about 1/4" would do the same thing.

    Nice ride!

  27. Well I don't like blue.

You can get positive and negative on about anything you do that someone either likes or doesn't like. Bottom line is do you like it?

It looks fine to me, I don't own one like it and probably won't in the near future, but that doesn't change the fact that I can appreciate a decent build and from where I sit it looks real fine.

  28. Congrats on your progress...I like it...7 bucks a gallon...I don't like that
