Does anyone have any loose T-strips off an old 28-29 Ford roadster they feel like letting go? Something real nice, solid little to no pitting. Its the T-shaped rip/strip that goes between the quarter panels and the deck lid or rumble lid. If not, anyone out there in reproduction land make them in STEEL ?? (NOT interested in aluminum strips!!!!) Thanks in advance!!
Hi There is a man in Denmark reproducing them in steel http://www.poul-hedegaard.dk/english/index.HTM I ordered these from So-Cal in Phoenix without problems. Lars
Well, YES and NO,...is what I got from berts. Yes they have T strips,....NO,..they are not for a 28-29 roadster. They're for a truck cab, not a roadster. They are diffrent, not jsut because they are straight but because their form is completely different. SO,.....I'm still looking for a set of steel T strips,....if anyone has a pair off an old 28-29 roadster rear let me know, as long as they're in good condition, I'll take them. Thanks
i know they make em for 28/9 sedan back panels, i would say they are the same for roadsters just a different shape, youd have to shape em, ill try and find out who he bought them from, the length might not be long enough but you can always by 3-4 of them and cut one in half and weld 1/2 to each of the full length ones. JEFF
that would definitely work....as long as they're steel and the same contour,...as long as the contour isn't noticably off if its not 100% dead on. thanks
ive had roadsters and sedans and would have to say that henry would have probable used it for both applications, that henry! your trunk drip rail bolts through them to the quarters and they are spot welded on the roadster quarters, i have roadster quarters that some had remove some of the t bar and i peiced some back it off of some junk quarters. ill ask him tonight. they were deffinatly steel, the were just strait so you have to cut them to meet the contour of the back panel. JEFF
I believe the ones Jeff is talking about are available from Snyder's. Part #A-170-ST They fit between the quarter panel, and back panel on 28-31 sedans. They are steel, 51" long with a slight curve. Rich
