I work from home and don't get out much plus all my old cars are in various stages of work right now with none driving at the moment so I might spend 30 or 40 a month on gas. Good thing too. It takes well over a hundred bucks to fill my gas guzzling F250.

  2. I spend about $960 or so. Then if I drive my Hudson much, that's another 100 bucks or so to fill the tank.

dude, don't you live in bakersfield?

with all that production and the refinery near by i bet you buy some of the cheapest gas in california.

granted i work in the petroleum industry so i won't complain.

but i know it sucks to pay that much, and i remember how hard it is to go to school and hold down two jobs.
but still we don't have it as bad as some... just ask some of the europeans that frequent the board.

and also ask around to some of the old timers in bako, see if they recall what it was like for us (petroleum producing communities) when oil was under $10 a bbl.

Usually $150 a week in my 96 Chevy pickup. Company pays me 48 1/2 cents a mile so I make out OK.

between my daily, my diesel for hauling cars and picking up other junk... and my hot rods, it's close to 1000 a month.

I spend 40 bucks a day almost every day it seems.

I left Bakersfield in 96 but even back then they were slowing down the oil business, my dad had to switch jobs and move out of state just to stay with the same company. I dont know all the details but I dont think they do as much as you would think.

An average of $627 per month, not counting the $1200 the Surburban took on vacation.
and that is driving one camery avg 28 mpg, and one sonoma avg 28 mpg, and very seldom the Burb avg????. My wife drives 90 round trip through the twin cities 5 days a week to work.

My 54F100 should get 20+ mpg when I get it done this fall.

also i don't know about where or how you drive but, if you're doing a lot of highway driving you might want to find your cars "sweet spot". there is a sweet spot when it comes to rpm, mine's about 3000. i can get 27-30mpg by keeping my rpm at or below 3000. if i get a led foot i can go down to as bad as 24. do some experiments and find your sweet spot. 3000 should be a good jumping off place.

i bet it is like here... all the old rigs around here that were once unprofitable have been painted, lubed up and turned back on. the slowdown of the 90's was largely due to profitability, (market price for goods produced), and now those "low production" rigs are profitable again.

shit, after the oil bust the only people left in oklahoma were those who couldn't find work elsewhere and those who just wanted to be here. :)

$240.00 per month in the daily
$1,000 per month budgeted for Big Olds for out of town events in the summer. Some months it's alittle less, some months alot more....like August.....oh yeah, Megan probably pays another $200-$300 per month for Big Olds fuel as well.;):D

  21. 2bbl a gas hog?

Anyways, assuming the same 16 MPG I get out of my Suburban, that's 1.5 gallons per day for a cost of just under 7 bucks, or $35 a week. Seems fairly reasonable to me. It costs me that for one day if I want to go work on cars.

You aught to be able to build a motor and gear that Ford to get 20-25 MPG with conservative driving habits, I hear lots of guys claiming 25+ out of full size mid-80s Ford station wagons with a 302 under the hood. If they're doing that by tailgating three feet off a semi the whole way, I'm not sure, but 20-25 doesn't seem unreasonable.

I added up last months bills, just 6/1 to 6/30 and it was $674. Its a real bitch when you have to set aside over $350 on payday just to get to and from work.

My DD is a 2005 tacoma double cab with 96,000 miles. I put a K&N filter in it last year and I get better mileage than when it was new (21 mpg).

I have to agree with some of the other post that the OIL FUCKS die horrible painful deaths, pennyless in a gutter.:eek::mad: (oops, did I say that out loud?)

I should foward this to my boss, he is crying the blues about our $50,000 a month to keep our 30 trucks on the road as well as feeding our small ond heavy equipment. That doesnt count the $10,000 a month we spend on propane!

Gezz, and to think I cry about the $20 a week in my harley and the $100 a week in the Redhead's Suburban. Yet I dont cry at all about the $9.75 a gallon for the gas in the roadster, good thing it only uses 2 quarts per pass.

We pay 8,9$ per US Gallon, and i use up 1300$ a month.

And more than 4$ per gallon is tax!!

    But this is in Sweden.

The Gas price here is raised 16% the last year, Diesel 38%
