I have been searching everwhere to find out what these are off of. They are 11 x 1 3/4 brake shoe size. The rear is a ford. The bolt pattern is 5 on 4 1/2. I need two of these, the one I have is warped. I completely rebuilt the everything else but I guess I should have found the drums first.
Polacko, I looked through catalogs, parts books at napa, checker, car quest, kanter, macs tech line, and none of them knew. I looked into the 57 to 60's passenger and they all were too wide. I must have ordered and sent back 10 different drums. I even went to all these local guys that are supposed to know EVERYTHING and have never be stumped on a car question, and after about an hour of digging throug their years of books and calling friends they can't come up with an answer of what it is. SO this may be my last resort. Hopefully someone recognizes these and knows exactly what they are. I don't want to change my rearend. thanks in advance

.... and this just showed up on the FordFE.com classifieds http://www.network54.com/Forum/thread?forumid=75943&messageid=1089248213
thanks Anthony, but I am looking for 11 x 1 3/4 not 10 I will check my books again just to be sure that it might be one of those. thanks
Those year broncos are 5 on 5 1/2, i looked into that. I called currie, they had no idea. I called the 9 inch shop, no idea. I called macs three times, no idea. Keep the ideas commin' at me, I am lost at this point.
That looks like a 57-59 car drum. I think new ones are unobtanium, which would be why the parts guys couldn't help. My Dad was looking for parts for those size brakes, and used (salvage) was the only thing he could find. Currie was no help either. Macs Ford Parts lists replacement shoes in that size for those years, but no drums. Could yours be straightened, or turned?
I had a little catalog that comes, small, made on newsprint that was selling new drums for 57's. Including wagons. I think it was Joblot Automotive, but its been a while. The price was surprisingly reasonable too. I'm looking for it now...
Kommutter, I only have one drum, I haven't turned it yet, but it may be good. I would like two good ones, but at this point, one will do. desertratrodder, is that 5 on 4 1/2 or on 5 1/2? I need 4 1/2.
desertratrodder and kommutter, thanks for the help, I knew the hamb would come through for me. I should have went here first. I have been searching for these for a long time. Now I can bleed my brakes.
They are drums off your geo metro. Nice hot rod you homo, you should be in the Gay rods insead of the Cheaters.
The drums that joblot has are too wide. HELP anyone else know what these are? The one I have from joblot looks EXACTLY the same but is about 3/16 wider. Maybe those were wagon drums? They said they were for fullsize car??? If I have to machine them I will but it would be much easier to just slide the right ones on and KNOW what the hell this rear is out of. Thanks. Mike
This is a '57 standard duty car drum that I dug out for Tagman.11"x1.75". Hope it helps. let me know if you need any measurments off of it, to know if its what you need/don't need. Matt
This one is off a '57 ford 4dr. sedan(should be the same for 57-59) 60-64 went to 2" drums. I know wagon/ranchero rear ends/springs are diffrent, but I don't know if the drums are diffrent. Where to get them? that I don't know, I know alot of guys switch to the later drum set-ups to avoid having to find these.

Is the actual offset of the wider drum any different? I work at a parts store and dug up some of the wider drums for my 59 9 inch car rearend, i had the narrow brakes also but the drum bell was deeper on the originals so the extra width of the drum was to the outside so it wouldnt interfear with the backing plate, it just only use 1 and 3/4 inches of the surface. i could dig up the part number for you, i may also have an original drum laying around to.
