Thats the plan. I'm going to use a parallel spring kit for the rear. Either Speedway or Cornhuskers adapter kit. Just wondering what is involved with the tranny mount? How about the 8BA front clearance etc. I'm sure somebody here has done this. Anybody have any pearls or wisdom?

I have not actually installed a setup like this into a 41. But i can pretty much guess that with a T-5 you will have to cut your K-member and relocate the tranny mounts.
Lots of info here on T-5 installations. The 8ba will go right into the engine bay and late model truck pumps (50-53) will get you the height and location you need.
You may very well have some clearance issues between the fan and radiator on that setup but its nothing you can't work around. Sometimes very easily. Mostly depends on the type of intake you choose due to carburetor/generator clearance issues.

I built my coupe with an 8BA and a C4. It's not as peppy as I want and I'm really thinking of changing to the third pedal and T-5. Since this is a late model trans, is the speedo sender digital? I assume it is. I have an electronic speedo currently and it just doesnt seem too happy with the C4. I suspect that the switch to a modern OD 5 speed will solve both my "pep" issues and my touchy speedo. Anybody know?

Check the link in my sig for more T5 info.

Digital vs Mechanical speedo depends on T5 model/year.

  5. Corhusker rules!

I called Wilcap originally for my adapt for the same set up, 8ba to T-5. They told me two weeks... that turned into a month and a half with the same excuses every week. Really screwed me up. I called Cornhusker, and had the adapt. in three days.

Can't advise on the crossmember, but I'm sure you can make everything...

Ours is in a 32 frame with a F-1 crossmember...it's amazing. I've used the F-1 in an A chassis, little triming and relocating of the pedals, but still a sweet set up... but the F-1 in a 32 is just amazing, so clean and natural.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. I'll have to see what chassis engineering offers. I'll probably go with cornhuskers. The tranny is an early one with the mechanical speedometer gear and the forward mounted shifter. It looks like I may have to cut the front sheve off my widebelt pulley to clear the crossmember. Luckily, I'll be mocking this up with the sheet metal off.

  7. Remember too, the 41 has a crank mounted fan, only used on 39 Deluxe, 40 amd 41...This is due to the radiator being really low. I am sure itwould work with an 8BA, but don;t know how it will work with belts, pullys, hoses.

    41 Fords rule ;)

Good point! I'll probably wind up with an electric as space permits.
