I'm not ready for it yet but I didn't know if anyone was using, or had any opinions on the autopilot digital air ride system. I have been comparing Dakota Digital and Air Ride Tech's version of the air management system and came across this at suicidedoors.com. I did a quick search on the web but didn't find much. I'm planning on bagging my 53 Desoto and really am just interested in pancaking it when I park and then ride height at start functions. Some of you seasoned baggers may know how to do this without the expensive gadgets. If so your advice would be much appreciated.
There's too many bagged cars on here to have nobody running a similar system. Honestly, how traditional are air bags anyway? It's all about being low. However, I drive my stuff all over and live out in the country where they can't pave a road to save thier ass. So to have it low when in town and when parked but still get it home the bags are the way to go for me. My 55 isn't low enough (cut coils and blocks) but I can't sacrifice anymore suspension travel. Just looking for some advice.
I'm currently using this system on my 60 Lesabre. Bought it from Kustombuilder here on tthe HAMB. Its a good kit, been running it for over a year, never had any problems. You might hit him up, he's a distributor. BTW, you allways get the "bags arent traditional" guys on these threads. Ignore them. I use unleaded gas, thats not traditional either. Hell, even Ryan has bags on his chevy wagon! Good luck in your search.
this is what cracks me up about this place, on one post it is somebody asking which digital air ride system is the best, Meanwhile people are complaining that cars with ANYTHING digital should not be involved in traditional events. what I know, I hate airbags, build the car low and drive it. However on customers cars who HAD to have airbags, I find that the air ride kit works great. Just make sure that you get it all from one place to avoid compatibility issues. We have a chassis from TCI, on which the customer ordered the full "air ride technologies" system. TCI substituted some of their own components, and it is causing problems.
