  4. Yes, support you local Drive-in! Most of them are little mom & pop operations that will go away without their patrons. Don't let your kids grow up thinking that a cold, smelly, mini screen in a closet at the mega multiplex is the only way to see a movie. We go every Friday night if we can. It's a 40 mile drive down to the Parkway Drive-in, $6 adult, $3 kid's, admission under 4 and the pooch free. So for the price of a little gas plus $15 for admission I get a nice ride in the country with my family, I get to go to a kick ass cruis-in in Maryville, I get a double feature in the open air under the stars on a screen the size of barn. How could it get any better? I'm telling you people, go find a Drive-in and treat yourself to it regularly.

    There's a great drive in near Windber/Johnstown,Pa.
Great prices on their admission, concessions and usually two feature films.
    A nice family-oriented setting.
They broadcast over FM,so there aren't any speakers to drive off with.

    Enjoy!

Mendon Twin, Mendon, MA! Well run, great food, neat memorabilia! Check it out. A little further down Route 16 is George's Redwood drive-In restaurant with car hops. Also, a cool mini golf course & Southwick's Zoo!

We went a few years ago. Closest one still in operation was about 90 miles away. I had to take the kids at least once.

Enjoy the drive inns while you can. Our local drive inn was damaged during some tornadoes recently. The owners of the land would not renew the lease to the owner of the theatre as it would cost to much to repair the damage from the tornado and the insurance did not make up the difference. They tore down the screen yesterday and started bulldozing everything. There is a large car show in town this weekend (Kearney Cruise Nite) and the drive inn always plays a big role in the events. Despite a large amount of local and nationwide supoort they still decided to terminate the lease.

Cruise nite normally has around 500 cars of all types that participate in the show and shine with countless more in town to cruise and take part in other activities such as grudge and drag racing at the local strip, there is also an auto auction which I believe was last night.

Support your drive inns as you never know when you will lose them.

The wife and I are going to see the Dark Knight this evening! This is a cool mom-n-pop theater that makes awesome pizza's as well. I might even knock me some off during intermission!

Damnit anyway.....that was on my list of things to do this summer still..can't make it to the cruise night, as I have another obligation, but was looking forward to hitting the Kearney drive in this summer sometime.

The Keno Drive In, in Pleasant Prairie, WI, is less than 15 minutes from my house. The wife and I went there once this year. We took along a cooler of adult beverages, it was sorta weird drinking beer and eating popcorn during 'Kung Fu Panda'. I fell asleep during the latest Indy Jones movie. I guess I needed the nap.
