c6, I believe is a stronger box and a lighter one.
But it uses more hp than the cruiso. You can find more performance parts for the C6 than the cruiso, so I vote c6.

I wouldn't switch until the Cruise-o-matic (FMX) wears out. In a stock DD, it might last years. I towed a 3000# race car on a trailer and with extra tires/wheels, tools, etc for several years with a big Ford wagon that had an FMX in it. Hell, I never even put a ****** cooler on it. Average track distance was 60-70 miles from home. Never did break it.

Off hand I don't know if the crossmember and driveline would work. You may have to find the parts out of a car equipped with C6.

Cruis-o takes a while to shift, annoying while parking. Haven't had a C-6, but I've had a C-4 and it is definitely better than a Cruis-o, crisper shifts.

Plus takes less HP to make the C6 work.

The cruiso are more complex. The c6 are simple and easy to work on.

The cruiso is a strong trans. but the c6 is a better choose for racing.
