Some background on how this relay came about: Last winter I ended up near stranded out in California 2500 miles from home while driving my '62 stude to a cousin's wedding in San Jose. A couple individuals truly went waaaayyy beyond what could ever be expected and gave me parts, shop space, and encouragement to get the lark going. Now, it's my time to repay the kindness to the same individuals who helped me out. Recently, On their 49 Stude, it has major engine problems, and finding this paticular engine in rebuildable form is tough in california. So I outright gave them for free a fresh rebuilt shortblock Stude engine I have here. no55mad very kindly made a huge start on the relay by taking it back to California with him. He came out east I belive to visit his 90-something year old mother. no55mad is taking the engine back to california as I type this. The engine will end up at his place near Santa Maria. The engine preferably needs to end up in Fresno, however Bakersfield or other central valley areas would be okay. Is anyone going this way? I'd be happy to chip in some $. Below is a picture. Yes, I put the engine in the trunk of my girlfriends car for the 2 hour drive to meet no55mad. At the location I met him, we found a big tree and winched it out of my trunk! Thanks Guys. The Hamb Rocks!
I was in Pasadena just last week and I'm located 2+ hours north of Fresno; unfortunately, it'll be sometime before I'm in southern California again.
I will be in Santa Maria on aug 9th. I am 2 hours west of Fresno , on the coast.. PM me if I can help.. The HAMB rules !! Dave
