New over here. Names Ryan, just purchased a 1965 Mercury Maurader 2dr hardtop. Got a 390. Cars overall in good presentable shape. Very excited but cant find any around. Shes in the shop right now getting what little rust she has gone. Priming the car black for now and lowering. Paint is gunna come next season. I might get burned a little here but also putting on 20in wire wheels.

Would love to get more power out of it. What can I do?

going to upgrade to Edlebrock 4 barrell and intake manifold.

That should give me a pretty nice gains but what else can I do thats not gunna break the bank completely to get some more ponies under that big ass hood?

Color is horrible now but getting that taken care of

  2. Welcome from West Georgia. What about painted steel wheels with some "MOON" brand custom style full caps. You should check them out on their website, plus they'd be much cheaper than ugly new 20's.
    Just my Two-Pennys worth.

how's about you just buy like a 50 inch wheel, and run inside it like a hamster. if you're diligent, sooner or later, you could mookwalk in there.

Well I figured that even though most dont like the 20s on here I would post up a progress pic. Might not appreciate the wheels but, the car, you should. Car is going to be painted in january. Going with either a black or a deep maroon. Lines on car are very clean...no dents, dings or rust. Just put the intake mani, holley carb and some chrome under the hood. Overall I'm pleased with the outcome so far...what do you guys think? no so much the wheels?
