Here is a pic of an "All American Hot Rod".......Approx 10" long die cast aluminum made in the 50's or 60's. Anyone collect 50's hot rod toys?
Yup. I have a Cameron Rodzy (similar to your All American, but smaller) and some tin toy roadsters. Too late for pix tonight.
There was one of those for sale at the last R/C swap meet I went to in Flint. I am still kicking myself in the *** for being to cheap to buy it. They were asking $350, and it was in new condition with the box.
I have one, Sweetie let the neighbor kids play with it one day long ago, they broke and lost the grille. No headlights on mine. Original color is black. It is a tether car, but not powered. It was a prize for perhaps ten new, newspaper subscriptions. Deal was you tied on some sturdy string, went to the basketball courts and gave it a whirl your own self. At least until you got so dizzy you couldn't stand up anymore....
Can you post a picture of the underside of that? Coupster, $350.00 and new-in-the-box is a great deal. There is a very big market for this kind of stuff.
I collect most everything, but I really like 50's hot rod toys, especially japanese tin toys. Here's some of my stuff. Mick
I saw a tether car sell for $ 12,000 a few years ago at the Toledo show. Of course, it was a national record holder from the 30's and completetly hand made and in mint condition. It was powered by a .61 motor, I forget the brand, probably a Dooley. Wish I took a picture of it.
anyone know where I can get some plans or scratch build instructions for one of these babies? I'm looking for a project for me and my boy.
