    What do you think ?

  3. Looks kinda like some type of racer, what with the cut front fenders. I also think you're a lucky *******.

Yeah, looks like someone wanted to turn it into an old TC (Turismo carretera) race car replica or something. Pretty straight and complete though, dont you think ? Its rolling and original engine and ****** are there.

The Headlights are dead give away for the 37/38 and 39 Standard only cars, but the trunk will tell you if is a 39 standard. The hood and side panels in your pic look to resemble the 38 grille shape as well. Good Luck!

See how the hood has a rib around the bottom of it...thats 38 standard. A 38 Deluxe and 39 standard have a flat bottomed hood and they slope down to a point in the front. Heres a pic of my 39 standard, a 38 seluxe looks nearly identical.

    Damn, Your car looks straight.
Do you think $2800 is fair for that coupe ?

They sure liked to cut the fenders open. Here's the Fangio Chevies from Argentina, very similar.

Yeah, well. My N*1 project would be an A coupe or a 33/34 coupe anyways. I'll wait for those !!

I don't think 2800.00 is bad if it is mostly there and in decent shape. Front fenders are not too hard to find in the US...probably are in Argentina! Is the car pretty rusty??

    I would love a 38 standard coupe ;)

Apparently not, thats what the owenr says at least. Its in a Northern dry weather province.
Looks mostly like burned paint by several time under the sun.

    Damn, $2500
    Should I ?

  17. Do it!

For $200 you won't have to be one of those guys saying "I almost bought this '38 coupe out of a field, but I was too cheap..."

You could clean that up with roller tires and good fenders and get your money back very easily, IMO.

    my 2 cents

Here's mine. Just had this one come in from the US and it came from Chile. All we know is that it was an old race car there.

The door is off a 39 and the blue on the door is original paint.Thecowl area and the area under the windscreen framealso has original blue paint but with silver racing stripes added over the top.

Would love to know the history on this car but I guess it will be just one of lifes little mysteries!!
