I might have a job offer in Ontario, CA and I'm wondering what it's like, how far from L.A. is it, really? How far is it from Rancho Cuco****a? How ridiculously priced is the housing, etc? Anything else you can tell me? Just wondering. Thanks.
ontario from LA is about 45 min give or take. if your looking to purchase a house the prices are high and rent is not cheap either. Ontario is about where the 15 and 10 fwy intersect. the 10 fwy will take you staright thru Downtown LA and into Santa Monica Pier. the 15 fwy will take you down to San Diego. Don't let prices scare you. you can still find some good deals as long you do your homework before packing up the family wagon. good luck! PM me your address and i'll send some newspaper to you. it might help.
Ontario isn't nearly what Orange County/LA is...still fairly reasonable for SoCal rates. Actually, if you don't mind the faint smell of cow ****, Chino is still a decent buy, and it's not far from Ontario. Rancho Choke-A-Monkey is getting up there, but that's thanks to the rappers. If you live in Tempe, you know what ridiculous housing prices are like--don't be a scared!
Good news! It's a lot like Tempe, hotter than the hinges of hell and when the wind blows it gets even hotter. The only redeeming thing about it is that you are close to Pomona! Just like every place in SoCal these days, housing is ridiculous...
I worked in Ontario until March. How should I put it? "Pardon me but, your cow is double parked." Wayno
[ QUOTE ] I might have a job offer in Ontario, CA [/ QUOTE ] You actually going to work?? I hope it comes through, I need another way point for my road trips. TZ
If all else fails you can allways move to nearby Riverside, buy a trailer and open up your very own meth lab.
Damn, so funny but so true! I grew up in Upland which is near Ontario and Rancho Cuca****a. From what I remember it was a nice area. Do a city comparison on www.bestplaces.net Pretty helpful...good luck!
my aunt lives in upland and my grandma lives in Ranch Cuca****a. both are really nice areas. ontario is pretty nice as well. i'm guessing that prices on homes are cheaper than Orange County, then again everything is practically. good luck.
Elmo, I used to live in New Hampshire, so I'm sure that the Cow Scene isn't as good as I'm used to! I'm really not too sure how serious I am about it, the guy called me today and told me that there was a 7 month job in Ontario, CA, or a 2 year job in Vegas (which I'm not all that thrilled about). I was asking about Rancho Cuco****o because my old roommate lives there in a 2 bedroom that he's spending WAY too much on, so I figured he might want to split the rent, just wondering how much of a commute it WOULD be. I haven't committed to anything yet, I just figured that since it is "only" 7 months it might not be that bad if the job ****s.
I went to a training cl*** by the airport in Ontario once. I was there for a week and on Friday I was surprised to see there were mountains looming in the distance. They had been shrouded by smog for 5 days. TZ
Prior to Texas, I lived in Riverside. I lived near downtown, very neat house in a great area. No trailers or meth labs or anything like that. Where I lived it was pretty much like OC but cheaper. Prices are going up, Ontario is expensive but Rancho Cuco****a and Fontana and Rancho Fontana and very expensive. $300+ for an average house. I sold my 50's 1100 sqft house last December for $240,000 and now it is going for almost $300,000.00. Smog ****s, The Inland Empire seems to have this constant haze of **** in the air(no, not meth). Alergies were at an all time high when I moved out there. Now in Texas, clean clear skies. Traffic is getting worse, but if you live in Riverside and work in Ontario, you would take 15 north and it is pretty good going north in the AM. Hope that helps, any more questions, email me. You coming out for the DRAGS?

Deyo ? ya moved to arizona from the east coat, now its time to move again ? ?I know the job market ****s just about everywhere .But to pack up and move to get a job that will last less than 1 year ?steve expand your job search and look outside your choosen field , maybe you can stay in az , that is if ya want to .Or get that job w/ ringling bro's then you can travel all the time .
i live in pomona it's like 10 min. from there and its not to bad in ontario hot yes but your going to be there for just 7 months it will be in the winter time right ?/ rents not to bad out in those areas or towns by there and RC is like 10min. from there too.i have seen places by the collage going for a good price for rent ...
Sure. I've lived in Ontario CAnada most of my life. It's along way from L.A. I think I'd rather live in Arizona.
I'm telling you dude, you gotta move up here to "The Fastest Growing City in California"(lincoln). I know a few people you would get along with that need roomates and the construction biz is booming, oh and no smog and plenty of cattle. -Jesse
