It won't stop........ever. but it could be slowed down by when one of these s***bags are caught he is hauled into the town square and had his hand removed by an axe or meat cleaver while a crowd watches and it's taped for national TV. I believe India does this and when you see a one handed person there it's a sure sign he's a thief. Second offence you loose the other hand. Third offence you forfeit your life. I understand there are VERY few second offenders.

    Hey gang,

First, as stated many times before, I'm hopeful even at this point for the return of the '57. It sickens that these cars are being targeted, I'm very sorry!

You have to be realistic with the depth of s*** we're talking about here... small-time speed freak copping a fix to highly organized global market. That said, knowing the cops will take a "tough sh*t" at***ude to save doing any extra paperwork, utilize what resources are available, specifically kill switches and LOJACK. My father has always had Cadillacs, when his wire-wheeled d'Elegance ended up a picked over carcus in Compton, all his Cads have had electronic locators installed. It is the only way you will get any involvement from the cops. When I bought my wife an '07 Camry XLE to take our lil' angel around in, you can damn well bet that I put LOJACK on that car. That car is always in the top 5 cars makes stolen, and I'm not about to be a victim like my father.

I know these things are or can be a pain in the *** and (with LOJACK) cost some significant money, but a reality check later... you have to ask yourself, what's the price/cost of regret if you end up in this horrible situation. The only break regarding insurance, I pay about $350.00 less per year with LOJACK than I would without. Please take the time and spend the money, you don't want to be a victim!

Forgive me for doing this, there is an up side... no one was hurt! My buddy Darren had a sweet '64 Impala SS, nicest one ever! Darren was leaving a reastaurant in Santa Monica (CA), nice place in a good part of town, out for a meal with his wife (the kids were at the grandparents, thankfully). A van rolls up, guys pile out just as Darren is opening the door with his wife... BAM! BAM! Shot her in the shoulder and Darren in the face. She recovered but is now a widow and the kids have no dad. F*ckin' horsesh*t!!! The car was never recovered and no one was ever arrested! I miss my buddy, a lot! These f*ckers will do anything and everything to get your ride! Protect yourself and your ride always!

I dunno...Maybe it's just me but Lojack or not the last thing I would do is have my wife and my angel driving around in one of the top 5 (or even top ten) sought after cars in the nation.

****s about the car. I hope you find it.

A cigar lighter makes a great kill switch. If you have an electric fuel pump, attach the ground wire from the pump relay to the batt post of the lighter. (you have to remove 12v+ wire) Push it in and it grounds the relay and pumps fuel.

If you have a mechanical pump just run a wire from the lighter to the neg side of the coil. When you push the lighter in, it'll prevent the coil from charging and the car won't start.

If they're using a tow truck, I suggest a big anchor and some heavy chain..

Unbelievable!! At this rate we're gonna have to have a section in the cl***ifieds for "Stolen Cars".

Hope it turns up and isn't south of the border already.

Don't know what muffler place you took it to and not making any accusations but, if you left it there for service and someone had the time to get a key made, that makes it pretty easy to follow you later and steal it. On the other hand, stock 57 Chevys were pretty easy to steal with just a jumper wire between the battery and coil and short out the starter solenoid. Anyway, good description and I'll be looking out here on the right coast. Lots of these cars get shipped overseas for sale there.

May have gotten a good lead tonight. I'll know more tomorrow. L.A. Sheriff's T.R.A.P team will investigate first thing in the morning.

Didn't find the car today but got another tip it was seen cruising Crenshaw blvd. last Sunday night with wide whites and stock hubcaps. The original caps and wheels were in the trunk when it was stolen. It should be easy to spot since it has 2 coils cut in the front and would look unusual with the stock caps.

Your point is well taken and I thought of that before I posted. But, I'd rather have all the good HAMBer's looking for it than worry about the few bad HAMBer's that might be out there. Now that we have a couple of tips of seeing it in a specific area we can concentrate on that instead of the whole world.

Recieved the flyer in the pony and it's posted at the fire station. I'll keep an eye out. Hopefully it shows up.

  25. Hope you get it back, what a bummer for you and your cousin. We like to think we can drive our cars in the daylight to run errands and enjoy them, then something like this happens. So sorry for both of you.

Violent Commotion is a Deep Purple/Violet 1963 Pontiac Tempest of Joey Wennick that was the NSS Champ for NMCA in 2006.

It was stolen in Gaffney,South Carolina on the way to a race in Atlanta.

Also stolen is a Silver Dodge Dually and a white 24' Pace trailer. Both with Jersey plates.

If you have any leads -- please call 856-207-1517.
