I found a Nash I want but I don't know if I should get it because of hard to find parts. Here is a pic
Think through what you want to do with the car- Keep it stock? Lots of hard-to-find parts... do what pacemaker said and join a club, as that will be your best source. Rod/customize? You may need less parts than you think. Lastly, Espay may be your friend as most (please don't hate me for this generalization) Nash owners seem to be the "pennywise" type and won't overbid.
Well I have thought of that but I was also wondering if it is worth picking up of is it such an odd ball pice that it would just be a pain to restore .
Does he have "5 other guys" looking at the car, or do you have time to do a little research? There is probably someone you can contact in the Nash club/society (whatever it is) that could help you out with a 20 min phone call. I know in the Vintage Chevy Club, they have tech contacts for specific years/body styles. Oh, if North Cacka Lacky happens to be Carolina, you are close enough to Hershey, PA that you could go to the show in October- you can find ANYTHING there!
Well, an interchange manual might be a great purchase. You may find that the brakes, etc are standard, and match something much more common. Although, I have to ask... if you're going to customize it, why not give it better stopping power. Nobody's going to see the brakes with those fenders!
Nash car club of america has people that sell parts all the time. It's about 20 bucks to join the club and you get a newsletter with parts adds and they have thier own message board. I have a 51 and got a lot of info from the club. also there is a yahoo group you can look for, its pretty much dead but the archives are still there. I have had good luck getting brake parts. The spindles are the same bolt pattern all the way into the 70's with AMC. I haven't had to do any motor work yet but kanter has some rebuild kits. window rubber for the back side windows is a bitch to find and expensive when you do.
