This is an easy one for me..(because im such a *****)
#1 did he follow your rules..No..**** em! end of story:eek:

you are in the drivers seat..if you told him money order or postal money order, and you didnt get one of those..send him back his check ceritfied mail (if you want to be a nice *****, note that costs you money) or e-mail him back and tell him ..hey I said M.O. or Postal check..what part of that didnt you understand..if you send me one of those,(Money order or postal check) i will send you the part with your check in the box..if not im ripping this up and selling MY part to some one who can follow directions...
    its really that easy.
it can be done if the other guy wants to play along if not than ,,he learns a lesson on how to follow directions..and you dont get stiffed..that way you dont have to learn any lesson as to what kind of person this is..;)

one thing i can tell ya.is this..Ive sold a ton of things and cars..and Ive never been stiffed..cash is where its at.

Sounds and walks like a duck-but maybe not. While it may be against their bank's telling you there are sufficient funds-your bank should be able to find that out for you. Check with your bank-you can also ask your bank how long you need to wait before they will ***ure you the check has cleared. Unless you have a line waiting for your parts it might be worth a tiny bit of effort.

Insist on the postal money order, because if it's fraud, and he tries to jack with a fake Postal MO (not common, but it does happen) it is now a Federal crime, and the Postal Inspectors don't **** around. Cash it AT the Post Office before you send the guy his parcel. You are covered, and he is covered. If his insists on doing **** differently, tell him to piss off.

Von Rigg, that's not nearly hard enough!
I ***ume this transaction is taking place over the net.
Take the check and your digital camera over to the kitchen sink, toilet or other suitable location.
While taking clear pictures, burn the f'in thing. Send him the pictures and explain that you were clear that third party checks were not acceptable. This is cheaper than return postage, and you both have proof that the check is not going to be cashed.

yea there are screw offs out there and scams everywhere. i got this ******** from one of my auction items i had for sale today, what a load of ****. what kind of idiot would believe this person is going to send you an extra 300 for a 20 dollar part ,plus send a money order overnight. i deleted and blocked this scam idiot.
sure buddy if i could get an extra 300 for every twenty dollar item i sold i wouldn't have to work anymore, except that money order or check is printed on your home computer. and you can't spell idiot!! your nigerian to english translator must be off, sure buddy my terms are deleted!

What is the guys name? If you don''t want it public send it PM as I am curious since I had a deal exactly like this last year. Some good HAMBers on here did a drive by on some addresses in San Jose for me and found out what he was telling me wasn't legit. To top it all off the guy had the balls to call me several weeks later after I told him I wouldn't send anything until the check cleared. He wanted to know what was going on and I told him the check was bogus. He said no way let me call the guy that wrote the check and get back to you. Guess what? I never heard from him again. Anyways I did take the check to the bank and explained it to them and they sent the check through without it going toward my account so I wouldn't be penalized. If it stinks like its fishy then it is! Plus since he didn't follow your request for a money order you aren't obligated to him. Too bad if they can't follow instructions!

  10. www.paypal****s.com Story after story of Paypal proving to actually be one of the biggest online scams. I even have 3-4 of my own stories where paypal screwed me,,,out the part,, and out the money.

Also my deal was the same as I had requested a postal money order and got a bogus personal check that was $3000 for a set of $200 wheels and he wanted me to give the balance to a shipper that would pick them up. I tell people I only do Paypal or money order and I ship by UPS and include it in their total unless they are close enough to pickup in person and then it is cash in hand!

  12. ok dude , deposit said check , and wait for said check to clear , when said check clears send parts , i know it sounds way to simple but sometimes thats the way it goes..

  13. Postal Money Orders. Take them to the Post Office as soon as the show up and cash them there. Wal-mart also sells money orders, at the service desk, so you can get them up to 9:00 at night. They also can be cashed in a Wal-mart, it's a pain because the clerk has to call up and verify the numbers on it, but if it's not real they don't cash it, you're not really out much but the time. K-mart sells money orders, too. As long as it's a chain in your area, you should be able to cash them there - there is no excuse for not being able to send one.

With Paypal there are umpteen ways someone can get your part and the money back and screw you. Send it with no tracking, they say they never got it, you're screwed. Send it with a tracking number, they claim it's a fake or not as described, and lie or show photos of something else entirely to Paypal to get them to award the claim, you're screwed again. I've read stories as recent as this year where Paypal has sided with buyers who claimed they got an empty box even when the seller had spoken with the postal carrier and the carrier remembered the box and that it definately was not empty.

Anyone overpaying for an item expecting you to send cash back is a cl***ic, cl***ic scam - the check, money order, whatever is ALWAYS fake.

Actually,Ebay didn't own Paypal until 2002 in a buyout 4 years after Paypal was founded...And I'll tell you this,Paypal and eBay are the reasons why I don't have a bank account any more:mad:

  18. Am I missing something here? This is not hard. DON'T send the part untill he sends you ar MO. If and when he gets around to asking for the part, tell him "no MO, no part". Simple.
