Customs Fly wheel

    Hey Does any body know what fly wheel to use to mount a 700r4 to 283 motor?

    it depends on if you want a 153 or 168 tooth flexplate.

    for 153 tooth 12-3/4\" diameter try Napa # 600-5021 , for 168 tooth 14\" diameter try Napa # 600-5000. both will bolt to the crankshaft on your 283 and both have dual bolt patterns of 10-3/4\" and 11-1/2\" for the torque converter. both are for internal balanced engines like your 283

    the torque converter for a 700r4 has threaded bungs to bolt to the flexplate , which are metric...if you do not have those special bolts they are GM part # 1261968..you will need three of them. do not use some hardware store bolts
