Question for Ionia Rod Shop

    Using Chassis Eng. x-member & clutch/brake pedal assy, fabed up bracket for hyd. clutch like streetrodder article,what slave cyl.should I use,small block chevy. Is there an o.e.m. one thats good to use, I have both a 3/4 &7/8 bore wilwood master cyl, or go with there slave? thanks

    We used a wilwood slave part # 260-1304 3/4" bore with reservoir...I'm not sure if you can use a master cyl. We usually use a mechanical, that was the first time we did a hyd. set up.

    The slave cyl. hooked to the throwout fork doesn't have a reservoir on it does it?

    Matt, from the picture it doesnt appear as though you have enough lever below the pivot to fully achieve the 1.5" throw available at the MC. Using a small diameter slave?

    You need to know and compute the following; Max throw of MC, pedal ratio and length of arm needed to fully stroke the MC, Bore of MC, Stroke needed to properly actuate the pressure plate at the actuation point of the throw out fork, slave with adequate stroke to accomplish, ratio of MC to slave bores in order to calculate stroke needed at pedal, usable stroke inside car plus freeplay. Does your throwout fork push foward or backward? Both style slaves are available. Address all of these issues and it will work right out of the shute, start guessing and......
