Need help wth Engine ID and parts support (flathead straight 8 )

    I have it torn down to the crank and I'm to the point where I need to start doing some research as to what is available for stock internal replacement parts. I can run the numbers if I can find a site to reference.

    Any info is appreciated.

    Get the bore&stroke measurement and look for a casting/forging number on the crank and rods. Post that and I'll see what I can do.

    head exhaust manifold thermostat housing looks like this Pontiac.

    Nope, not a Poncho motor, at least nowhere near 1950. I have a 50 Pontiac eight and the oil tube sits much closer to the front, as well the temperature plug is closer to the back of the block. You can see in your pic the oil head and tube are much closer to the front than in his pic which is near the back about where the ignition coil would be in a Poncho.

    He also doesn't have the heater tube in the center of the head.

    OLDS Lookin very similar Yours doesn't have the hole in te block for the coil mount.Oil fill is closer to Pontiac.[​IMG]

    Yep, that looks like it. He has a heater tube on the side of the top, it is just disconnected. I can see the hole. The placement of everything is right on. Of course Jonnycola already knew that. :)
