I planned on going, but now there is suppossed to be some heavy rain, and the 34 ain't got no roof yet, so we might have to take a regular car, times like these make me wish I did'nt sell the 61. By the way, anybody that wants to take a 40 mile run up hwy 70 tomorrow on sat morn, let me know. We are going to check out an old Stuckeys truck stop and gas station that closed down near high hill. Just an excuse to do something and take some cool pics. Maybe even score a token of yestorday's americana.
Give me a call for info. We are leaving around 8-8:30 am from O'Fallon Mo. Right at Hwy K. Give me ring if anyone wants to go. 978-1996 . Ask for Rick.

I saw the mohawked cat, he was sport'n it proud :D.

It was worth the price of admission ($0). Meet some folks, chatted with some friends, looked at some cars, and listened to some good bands. Plus some cat in a '62 Biscayne did a hole shot in the street (I am not sure who that was ).

If you didn't make it you missed out! :)

Thanks for compliment on my Biscayne (I guess perfect is good?).
We left before the brunette burlesque dancer, the wife and I did want to see her but we had to "burn out" of the place.

Is that like "hotter than a fresh ****ed fox in a forest fire" hot?

Dan that Riv is sic, dig the pin whites and Supremes!

It was a hot one, but the night club air kickin' and the building cast a fair size shadow across the lot so there was plenty of shade and cold beer.

Another one of these shows would be great maybe on a Saturday when people can hang out longer. It was cool because there was many things to do. Cars, bikes, bands, beer, chicks...what else is there...oh yeah more food would be good :D.

  12. It was hot....

Seemed folks were kinda in and out all day, never seemed to get everyone parked at once. The grub selection was a bit thin, but we rolled down to cherokee for some honduran balietas and horchatas, then headed back for the last few sets, still a few rides left by then.
We missed the 6 oclock burlesque shows, but luckily they put on a few more. Pretty much closed the joint down. Got rained on like a mofo on the way home.

Talked with greta garter and gogo mcgregor, they are hoping to try doing it again in october when its a bit koooler, Maybe have the cars a bit later in the day, like 4-8, so it overlaps with the tunes and ladies.

I didnt take a single pic, whats up with that?

I made it by (the fat guy in the flat cap, smoking a pipe) no doubt it was HOOOOOTTTT! The cars that were there were really nice along with the bikes! I think a wee bit more early advertising would have helped alot also. Overall a good show though. I did take allot of pic's I'll try to get some up later today.

Yeah it was fun. I think, like someone said, it would be better to start the whole thing at around 4 or so. I wouldnt have wanted to bring a car at noon and sit around allllllll day. But it was a blast hope they do it again. If anyone knows Greta Garter make sure they dont schedule it the same weekend as the pileup in october!

Very similar... but not quite as hot :D

Thanks for the complement, your 62 is no slouch either! I'm a big fan of nearly all 1962 GM products (I've had a 62 Bel-air, buick, and impala)

I glad someone took more pictures, I ran out of cars to shoot :D.

BTW the '49 Chevy is my buddy Jeff's, one of his many . Someday that will get a hopped up multicarb 235 and a 4 speed with an open driveline/rearend. He is not on the HAMB, he is a self admitted computer retard...dee dee dee !
