It was great to meet some new fellas and see some old bro's. Had a good time checking out all the cars with Stick Shift. The weather was just about perfect (warm and no rain). I even had a beer-battered brat (Scott was that a northern IL delicacy?)! Sorry no pictures. Will definitely try to make that show next year.

Since we were at the booth, I missed the meet and greet, but ran into several HAMBers throughout the day. I think they said 700 cars. I know my registration number was in the 650s.

It was nice to meet some of you guys. saw some great looking cars, some I recognized. Good to see somebody won something, Racer190 your Dad sure was proud of you building that truck, I walked by that area twice and heard him telling people that you had built it all. (I believe that's you and your dad in the background of the pic right? or am I talking out of my ***) What I saw of the craftsmanship was very good, although I couldn't get too close because it was always swarming with people.

Django, your '36 is great. I saw a few other Hamb timing plates but no names that I recognized.

The bike event was cool, I was ok with losing to the guys who won the vintage section.

Yep thats my dad and I standing in the background, and my mom is sitting in the chair. Notice im staring at that ice cream bus... I was eyeballing that thing down all day lol! My dad was able to find time to stop working on his studebaker, and the remodeling of the house to come and help me out in the shop when I needed it and I thank him for that. Thanks for all the kind words guys, I really appreciate it!

Yep, that is the same exact "truck" in the photo. The picture was taken in Texas on a beach along the gulf coast. It is actually a custom from the 50's. It was built like you see it now in 1955, 2 years after it was bought brand new in '53 as a commander coupe.

  13. Good to see some of my fellow ILL HAMBers made it out?!

Sorry, I missed the HAMB meet and greet...I was to busy enjoying the 800 plus cars and trucks.
