You can use a Corvair roof. The rear of the Corvair roof becomes the front of your coupe roof.... I have now used two and they work very well. The Corvair roof has a nice crown to the roof, as if Henry made it that way.

I have done the Corvair roof, and it worked fine. But in my part of the country there's no Corvairs left. I'd spend the money on a Walden insert. I have used Waldens products and they were spot on!

They know what their doing at that shop........I was lucky enough to spend a day and a half while Mr. Walden use his power hammer, pullmax ect. make some parts and instruct us....while we were taping for Hard Shine.........It was some of the best instructional stuff I walked away with after filming.......learned alot, he did a great job describing everything and had all the answers.....Littleman

Working on a 30 coupe as well. Haven't installed it yet, but have it laying on the roof with no gaps all the way around and a nice contour, a 68 Chevy 4 dr HT roof.

Not knocking Walden products at all, just out of my budget range.

    Hey,

Bobby's inserts are top drawer if you got the wedge for them.......

If not take a look at third -forth generation Camero-Firechicker roof
    skins.

My buddy bought one for his Model A. We were able to watch him finish up the insert on the hammer. That guy is freakin amazing! He produced a perfect peice- well worth the money. A true craftsman.....I guess you can tell I was impressed....

Bobby's the man! He won't let inferior **** leave his shop. AND he stands by his stuff! What they cost compared to the time it will take for you to figure out how to make one,is nothing!!!

I've got a louvered one for my 34 coupe and I think it's gorgeous. Can't wait to put it in. It's a nice piece and Bobby is a great guy too.

I recently installed an insert in a 32 3 window. The box just said RPM from Borger, TX, it was at least 10 years old. I Googled the phone # and it came up as Walden's Speed shop. There are also door skins in the box that I have yet to install.

The top insert was top notch, and fit the contour of the roof really nice. If I filled another roof, I would definitely go this route again. Its better than dealing with a panel that has been painted or rusty.

The door skins look so nice I would consider getting a pair for my 33 3 window if I had the money to spare, rather than patching my existing skins.

cut out old brazed in insert, looks like my new insert will need to be about 2 inches bigger all around, measuring from tack strip holes,it will have to be welded more on the curve than on the flat as it is very wavy,i guess from the heat from brazing 40 years ago, going to call bobby to see if he can make a insert bigger than normal.should i weld visor to body before or after insert?

Bobby's inserts are oversized. Call Bobby and visit with him. One of his regular sized inserts may fit perfectly. I have installed one in my '30 A coupe. You will not find a better product out there. Perfection comes to mind.

Hard to explain exactly, but I installed the visor with the insert. Not before or after.

I wonder roughly how much those 32 chopeed steel bodies go for, i'm sure not cheaper than buying one for 20k+ from brookville.
