    Right!

This is what my pick-up will look like.
Just started on the 24-bolt flathaed yesterday.
Mostly all the parts on it will be '39 Ford, wit a '37 ford pick-up bed.

Keep your eyes open,as I will be posting more pics as the build evolves.
Also go checkout my album for more pics.

    Cheers

Here's the 24-bolt Flathead I'm gonna use for the pick-up.
It's gonna get another intake aswell for 3-Stromberg carbs & straight pipes out the side.

I can't even imagine trying to build a car in S. Africa. How hard is it to get parts?
    Looks good, keep us posted.

Yeah i would imagine building one way out there would be tough to find a stromberg setup, or any parts for that matter

Thanx for all the positive replies. We in SA need it.
Parts isn't so difficult to get here.About 2weeks or so,which means your 'build' goes in reverse:(
But,we keep at it & soon I'll be cruizin' in the '39.:p

I'm busy with the flathead now.Turns out it's an early '42 engine with dome pistons & heads. It's also already been overhauled.
Got the engine with the '39,a '47 ford pick-up another two flatheads & alot of parts for about $500!haha!

    Keep watching this space......

    Cheers.......Jannie

Good inspiration for anyone that far away to be so involved, think I'll finish this and head for the garage! Just 2blocks from the parts store , 1 block from burger heaven. Aren't we all feeling ashamed about letting that project sit? SpDDmn it looks good keep it up!

There are a couple of us that come on here. Right now Jannie seems to be about the most prolific - guess the rest of us need to pull our fingers out our ***es!!
Building a car over here is a little tough, but it can and is being done.
The whole traditional thing is tougher but we're trying;). Pretty much everything gets bundled up together -hotrods, streetrods, muscle cars etc. Most rodders idea of traditional is Jag suspension and 80's style wheels and paint:eek:
Next step is for the cars to get more exposure - working on that too, with a new magazine just launched and some TV shows being talked about.
Great to see the support and positive responses to Jannie's projects!!

I like the drawing. I have a '41 Chev cab that I want to build next. Not quite clear how I want to go with it yet. I'm thinking about fenders, but off something else like 36 Ford or maybe lesser brand so I can afford them. Keep posting

I had a change of heart on the colour of the flathead block.
Not going with the signal red anymore, but black now.

I spoke to the previous owner of the flathead,&.....it's been bored,resleaved,0.20 oversize dome pistons, new crank, new heads etc.
So,all my flathead needs now is some TLC.The engine is lose & I can't wait to get it started with the new "slingshot"-intake I'm still gonna build & the twin 94's,with straight pipes(thanks for the performance tip Dave)

Will post pics of it when done.
Or go check out my profile album on "Low N Mean"
