I've got a question for some of you guys on here. There's a small movie theater in Wendover (the town that everyone stays in during speed week). I've been talking to the folks there and I've arranged to screen my do***entary "The Road to Bonneville."

But before I make any solid commitments I wanted to run it by The H.A.M.B. to see if anyone would be into seeing it on the big screen.

The one major issue I'm on the fence about is that they can't disrupt their regular schedule for a one or two night event (which I totally understand). So the film would have to start at about 11:00pm.

Do you guys think this is too late? Or is there enough people here interested to make it worth the effort?

That will work for me. I'll be there. Sounds like a cool plan.

It's to late.Us racing old farts gota get some nap time for the next day , as it starts early you know.Show it at the "state line" on a building wall & we will be there??.LOL.

  6. Maybe you can rent or bring a screen, a projector and a generator. Show it at the bend a little earlier. We all go to sleep by 11 if we are racing.

There is a guy that goes to the pomona swap that shows movies on this type of setup every now and then. I can see it, so good enough!

Desert is right,..... Too late for the racers..... maybe the spectators can come, but If you showed it at the bend, as soon as the sun goes down,.... maybe after the Hop up bbq,..... tell everybody to bring their own chairs.... etc. I think you'll get a much better turn out than the movie theater. My 2 c.

Sounds like a cool idea. May be a bit late.....drinking all day in the hot sun makes me tired. :)

I am pretty sure I would still show up!

Spoke with the guy at the theater and he says he should be able to move the show time up to somewhere around 9pm.

    any update on this?
i am sure if the word got out, many would attend. not to *****, but something in town is easier for people staying in town. a little harder for those of us staying at the "Bend". and visa versa.
could this turn into an annual event? many vintage style rods and rides showin up for a movie on the salt? biiiiitchen.
    anyway, sounds great.
    let everybody know.
    thanks,
    sb

Still up in the air, I need to find a video projector to rent and bring with me (the theater is only set up to screen 35mm prints)... I'll be making calls all week to see what I can come up with and post the details here as I go.

    Keep your fingers crossed!
