I have a ford nine inch that I am narrowing. When they did it on muscle car tv, I seen he had a pinion center finding jig or plate. where can I find one of these or has any one ever made one. I have searched the web and to my amazement have found nothing. It looks like a simple piece of plate aluminum that bolts to the housing with a slot cut in it to located the center of the pinion .

The "dogbone" make sit so much easier as you know exactly where the edge of the axle is, and it lets you center a non-centered housing or off- center a centered housing. You can also figure the exact length of axles needed for a bare housing. I have done hundereds of housings with the dogbone, and there is no way a tape measure alone will do them fast and accurate.

S and W race cars has them for around $20.00 . It gives you the centerline and the pinion center up and down.
