Hot Rods 1923-25 T Tourings

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Greg Stokes, Jul 31, 2008.

  1. Hey guys,

I have searched T Tub, T Tourer, T Touring and havent been able to find pics of a particular yellow '23-'25 T Tourer with red wires - fenderless etc.
I beleive it was an early HRM feature car?

Also, and I know its a later T but pics of Morty's tub too!?

    Thanks,

    Greg

  2. Yellow with red wires sounds like Tom Hines car. Restored by his kids and out of Colorado. Cover of Hot Rod April 1951 (I think) with 4 guys in it. The T-Tub Standard! (next to the "Stupid Car"). The 23-25 bodies lack a drivers door like a 26-27. They don't have any rear wheel indentations so the body can be mounted about anyplace and still look ok. Stupid car is back about 3".

  3. That sounds like the one
You dont have any pics do you?

Car ran a Two Cam Miller head on a B block, now in a collection in California. If my camera worked I'd post the Hot Rod cover & feature.

  5. It has been in fairly recent mags. The brothers trade it each year, one lives in Colorado and gets it for a year then it ends up with the other brother which lived in Cali. At least when it was covered several years back in one of the mags. I have the issue but do not remember which one it may be.

  6. Hot Rod did a piece on it in '99-'00 I will see if I can find which issue.

It was on the cover of March '50 Hot Rod and wasn't featured till the July '50 issue.

Here are some pics of Morts. I asked about his car on here a few times. It was easier to talk to him. I want to build mine like Morts, well thats was the plan when I got last April. Still collecting parts for it.

  10. You at least knew it was featured recently!:):):)

No worries. Here is the March 2000 Hot Rod article exactly 50 years after it was on the cover.
