40's have been done to death. Go with the 38.

Coupe, but I don't have a family. Just a wife who won't ride in my rods.

I wonder which one Ryan will tell ya's better?

    "Better" for what?
If you ever need a back seat, the sedan, obviously.
I'd go with the '38 if it was a standard instead of a Deluxe, I prefer the Standard grill/hood lines, but then, I prefer the '40 standard grill too.

40 for resale, 38 for personal taste.

    '40, but then I'm a family man.
And nothing kicks *** like gettin' thumbs up and smokin' the tires in the family sedan!

  15. 40's are everywhere but people are willing to pay for 'em...if it was my choice I would go with the 38...what fits your lifestyle/routine?

When I was 13, I had a choice between a rough 40 coupe, a decent 40 Fordor, and a really nice 40 tudor. Being 13 I of course chose the coupe. Now 25 years later I still have my coupe, but i also have 2 small kids who a stuff into the area behind the front seats. If I knew then that I would still have the car I chose then, I MAY have still chosen the coupe, as there is not a better looking car in the world than a 40 Standard coupe. Nowadays, practicality says I should have chose the tudor. Although having the coupe gives me a reason to build a bigger "family car"!:)

The 40. One of the few cars you can screw up if you change ANYTHING. They are perfect. Unless you can change the front end on that 38. THERE-I SAID IT - I THINK 38 FORDS ARE UGLY. Except for Ryan's. And I really like his steering wheel. And his wife is always nice when I buy stuff at the LSRU. ****ing up here a little.

If it is this kind of '38 coupe.. I'd go with the '40 sedan. I don't know what you call this, but it's not pretty and I think the values of them reflect it.

Not too big on C-dans...I vote for the coupe unless there's family to haul.

I have both...kinnda. A 39 standard coupe and a 41 deluxe sedan. I love the coupe because...well, because it's a coupe, but the sedan is nice, pile some friends in it for a drive, get your girl in the backseat, whatever. Even my dog rides in that thing with me!

They made a club coupe (I think is the one pictured) and a buisness coupe. Clubs had a back seat, hence the longer roof.

Hands down the coupe. Sorry if I'm late on this one. Friends are cool, but you only need to worry about you and your girl. Let 'em drool. It's a hot rod, and it's all part of the game.

Yes, the one pictured is a club coupe...The club coupes are really ugly.. Now I chopped the **** out of one of those..
38 deluxe coupe definitely. Look at Ryans car and your decision will be easy..
Be careful. The trim is impossible to find on the deluxes..
    Just ask Ryan about that...
